you either have a blocked catalytic converter or a faulty air mass meter. on the exhaust pipe, you will find the lamda sensor plugged in just before the cat converter. disconnect the attached wire from the plug end and remove it. start the car up and rev the engine. if it revs freely, you need to replace the cat.

CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND ALSO WHILST HOLDING IT IF IS AN ASTRA G ENGINE THERE IS A LITTLE PIPE FOR VACUUM ALWAYS IT CLOGGED TRY TO OPEN IT. ALSO CHECK THE EGR VALVE SOMETIMES IT STUCK OPEN.
