Question about 1985 Ford F150

Truck wont start!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just replaced the celenoid and the battery in my Ford F150 Truck, its a 1985, with a 302 Engine. It will click when you try to start it, but it will not fire. Even if you try to jump it off, it will not fire the engine. We have even taped on the starter from underneath the truck to fire it but nothing happens. It just clicks. The light will come on but if you try to start it, it clicks and the lights dim.

NO it sounds like a battery isent realy good ,or the battery term Poss/Neg are dirty so ,open the bonnet and get someone to turn the key to start and you put your hands on the battery terms Poss/Neg and if 1 or both are warm or hot there dirty or the battery isent any good as it has to be at least 11.7 volts to turn over slowly ahd the battery at 11.7 isent any good so replace it
or try jumping from another car and if it starts straight away then battery.

well, you most likely have a bad celenoid, but if thats not the case, you can get underneath the truck and with the year of the vehicle there is mostlikely corosion on the starter conection so try steal wooling it.
