My fan won't come on with ac or heat. My car is a 2008 Dodge Caliber. Could it be the blower motor or the blower motor resister or both? Please help!!!

Didn't we discuss this yesterday? I left it that I asked if it was the heater blower or the radiator fan?

Disconnect the wires to the fan itself, making sure you know what wire goes where (. Take two wire from a known power source or the battery, and touch on each contact of the fan. If the fan turns, the problem is the resistor or the heater blower speed switch, if the fan doesn't turn, the fan is defective.

I trust you have checked the fuse?

No heat or ac

Depending on the year , make , and model you have, most HVAC systems have a blower motor fan resister, usually located near the blower motor, check for power and ground at the fan resistor plug connector and make sure all connectors are in good shape, and not melted, or you will have to replace the fan resister pig tail as well.

How do you check/ pull the control switch to a heater/ac blower motor on a 2010 Dodge Caliber? I have already replaced the resister.

The failure rate on the controller is rare. If you replaced the resistor and still no fan operation, try supplying direct power and ground to the blower motor terminals to see if the fan operates. If no operation, suspect a bad fan. You can also try slapping the bottom of the fan motor with the fan turned on. Sometimes this will excite the motor and make it work again if in fact the fan is an issue.

I have a 2008 Ford Edge, the a/c gets cold, but the fan runs at diff speeds when it wants to and sometimes not at all. I have replaced the blower motor, resister & blower motor relay. The problem still...

try running your fan motor w/o the ac being on, ie: defrost, heat etc..

If the problem with fan speed persists, try replacing the fan speed selector switch. FYI FREON was Dupont's version of R12 refrigerant which hasn't been made in decades. Your car uses R134a, not freon.

Someone will need to check the fuse for the blower, then the blower motor and the resistor.

01- Dodge Caravan AC Heater Control it only works on high none of the speeds work when I rotate the switch from low to high. Is this a swith problem or a motor problem?

Most likely neither. The most common cause is that an electrical device called the blower motor resister block, has failed. This device provides all the slower speeds. It is generally mounted in the HVAC [Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning] box, very close to the blower motor. FYI, we mechanics call the fan motor inside the cabin the blower motor. The electric fan motor behind the radiator is called the cooling fan motor.
If the resistor block is OK, then you have either a bad fan speed switch or a melted electrical connector at that switch. 95% of the time, the resister block is the problem.

How do i fix my 2008 dodge blower motor it is not blowing. when I'm driving i can feel cold air coming out of the vents but it does not actually blow.

most all items are controlled via CAN/OBD2 ECM's.Check Resistor also as this controls fan speeds. Not sure it Blower is now ECM controlled but Their are very few relays on these calibers and most everything is ECU controlled. This seems pretty stupid due to one ECM failure and whole vehicle is useless but It keeps dodge stealerships employed.Would have thought they used several for each system like GM so you can at least still use vehicle one of the many ....
