In the old days there used to be an adjustment screw on the back.

What you need to do first though is disconnect the wires to it and attach a pair of wires direct to the battery. If the horn works, it is the switch in the steering wheel, the fuse or the wiring.

And yes as Noel says check the connections to the horn. It is located in a hostile place, with rain, salt and mud.

Sounds like you need to replace it or check any wires going to it to make sure they are connecting ok might be a bit of rust on the connectors.

SOURCE: Horn blows fuses

The most common cause of this short is the horn coil, replace the horn and the problem will be fixed, a quick test is to disconnect the horn and press the horn button, if the fuse doesn't blow the horn is the problem.

SOURCE: Horn won't blow even after replacing fuse.

Clean all the connections at the horn. Check for power at the horn. If there is power at the horn, check for a good earth. You may even fit a new earth cable. Failing these solutions, you may need to get a replacement horn.

SOURCE: horn wont blow

the problem is the rotating contact that connects the horn to the steering column wiring harness, this part is called the clock-spring contact, u must remove the steering wheel to change the part out.

If you are facing the front of the jeep. It is on your left, on the fender well. Yes, you do have a fuse under the dash. The fuse panel should be marked on what fuse is it.

Horn wont blow

Check for blown fuse first. If fuse ok, you will have to check for a power and ground supply directly at the horn itself. Possible causes are... defective horn...blown fuse.... defective horn relay....defective horn pad.... defective clock spring..... broken wiring. There is a lot of electrical diagnostics that need to be performed to make this simple horn operate

My 1998 montero sport horn wont work I checked the fuses they,re ok.

Check the connection to the horn? be sure they are properly grounded. Also the horn switch on the steering wheel may be not making a connection with the ring plate behind the steering wheel and before the column.

I have a 2008 caliber and my horn wont work and i cant find the fuse that wll fix it

Did you check your manual??? It only takes a minute to check all fuses with a test light. You could also have an issue with the horn, as if it goes bad can blow a fuse, but replacing the fuse won't fix the problem.

Horn wont blow an the fuse seems to be ok . help .

If you have a test light check the hot wire going to the horn. If you have power there then probably the horn is bad.

Horn

unplug the wire to the horn, use a test light to check if there is power there when the horn is pressed. If yes, replace the horn. If no, check the horn fuse, if that's ok, check for power at the horn relay and swap it for another relay the same to check if the relay is faulty. From there, if the fault still exists, you'd better get an auto electrician to look at it.

Horn blows fuses

you may need to put a relay in it as the current from the horn may be back feeding up the immobiliser horn circuit and causing a short. Sounds like the immobiiliser has its own source of power seperate from the factory circuit When you press the horn the power goes to the horn and up the immobiliser horn circuit and it blows the fuse.
