X2
misfire, means
low combustion (low piston velocity, low piston accelerations)
that is what it does and means.
caused by.
or low compression (cylinder)
bad spark or weak
or bad fueling (too rich misfire, so does too lean)
that is how it all works! all OBD2 systems, do this.
DTC:
P0301 and P0306
is that heard to spit out?????? the scan codes, why?>
it can be as simple as.
spark plug 1 and 6 bad, H3LL all 6 bad. ever do a tuneup in 6 long years?????
spark boots bad number 1 and 6. ;cheap fix. buy them.
if you had done the turn up first, the boots would have been carefully inspected by you, and passed or failed, burned = fail)
or the cops bad. $$$$$$
or you gapped the plugs wrong, not reading the SM on gap spec.,

why not use new spark plugs. and gapped right.

SM = service manual,

what told you 1 and 6
must we guess that?

No miles on engine stated, all we know is 6 long years of service.
no miles since, a full tuneup, spark parts. tops list./
same answer on tuneup for 100 years now.
nobody does them. then wonders why spark plugs dont last life of and engine, sigh. "they dont"

Ignition coil one and six or course. The 3.7L uses separate ignition coils for each cylinder. The one-piece coil bolts directly to the cylinder head. Rubber boots seal the secondary terminal ends of the coils to the top of all 6 spark plugs. A separate electrical connector is used for each coil.
Because of coil design, spark plug cables (secondary cables) and a distributor are not used.
Two knock sensors (one for each cylinder bank) are used to help control spark knock.
The Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay provides battery voltage to each ignition coil.
The ignition system consists of:
² 6 Spark Plugs
² 6 Separate Ignition Coils
² 2 Knock Sensors
² Powertrain Control Module (PCM

2007 jeep grand cherokee is skipping and misfire codes

There are several different things that could make it misfire ! not just plugs ,does it have plug wires or is it coil on plug coils. Could have a coil breaking down. Does it do it in all driving conditions ? Idle , cruising speed ,under a light load and what codes .po300 random misfire or a specific cylinder misfire code ? P0306 cylinder #6 etc.

Check engine flashing engine misfire jeep cherokee Engine codes show misfire on 1-4 cylinder check engine light flashing at 75mph AC running

1st, replace your spark plugs(for gasoline engine) or heater plugs (for diesel engines)

if this does not work, have a mechanic check the timing of your engine. Engine timing is checked in the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee not firing on #6 and #8 cylinder. Checked plug wires, plugs, rotor, cap. Its only on the #6 and #8.

usually single cylinder misfires are are problems in the secondary wiring of the ignition system (plugs and plug wires) if you have replaced those and the cap terminals are not cracked or chipped and there is no moisture on it all i would check the coil or Icm

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004, code 0205, problem with misfire.

Anytime you have a misfire you check the easy things first.Plugs, wires, and coils. Then injectors or a mechanical problem. It seems you went for the expensive things first.I have had problems with the ignition coils on these vehicles. The only good thing is you eliminated the expensive things.Good luck.

1999 jeep cherokee 6 cylinder engine light

1.Plugs
2. Vacuum leak
3. Injector fault
4. High or low fuel pressure.
Thats the list of things to check.
This is a #3 cylinder misfire.
There is also TSB about #3 injector needing added heat protection. This could definitely be the cause. I start at plugs and go from there.
Hope this helps.
Thank you,
Lee
