Crank postion sensor were is it? 1999 village merc

the crankshaft position sensor is not used for anything except reporting to the PCM.

The distributor has 2 optical sensors that conteol spark timing and fule injection timing. This is different than the typical FOrd system because it is a Nissan engine. what are you trying to do?

1997 Mercury Villager car will turn over, but will not start. Used ether but nothing. Can't get spark. Installed another coil-- nothing. Installed electonic ignition module--nothing. Any ideas???

if you can get a scan tool, hook it up and check to see if you are getting engine RPM while cranking. if not than you may have faulty cranck sensor.
