Question about 2003 Chevrolet Impala
Inertia switches just don't go bad. The last ones I reset were back in the eighties because Ford crown vics would pop because of opening the trunk. In thirty+ years, I have never replaced one. If you just replaced the fuel pump, I would check for power and ground to the pump. I have done many Chevy's that are electrical problems.
