check power steering pump valves as the noise could be valve vibration from weak control springs

How to correctly install and line up new timing chain for Nissan Altima 2.5

This is a tough job unless you have the tools needed to hold cams and crank in place because if they move even a fraction out of place the pistons will interfere with the valves in the head

2003 nissan maxima p0021 bank 2 cam timing 40 degrees advanced at idle

To review - - the intake valve solenoid valve controls the flow of oil thru the control valve to adjust valve timing.
The code means the computer "sees" the valve timing as out of range and/or not controllable.
Possible causes could be a defective or stuck solenoid valve, dirty oil causing a blockage, a faulty cam sensor or faulty crank sensor.
Other than changing the oil and filter, the components would need to be checked with a scanner that can look at live data.

What is a drive belt on a nissan pulsar, i was told on a mechanics list that it should be repaired immediately, i was wondering if i can do it myself!

Drive belt is a term used by some mechanics for the timing belt, which is usually replaced every 100,000km, less on some vehicles. It is the main belt which drives the cam shaft and the crank shaft in there correct sequence. You need to make sure all timing marks, on crank and cam shaft are aligned correctly when replacing it. I would not recommend doing this yourself as it can be costly (bending valves) if it is not installed correctly.

Changing timing belt what about possible valve problem

When an automotive timing belt is replaced, care must be taken to ensure that the valve and piston movements are correctly synchronized. Failure to synchronize correctly can lead to problems with valve timing, and this in turn, in extremes, can cause collision between valves and pistons in interference engines.
