Check engine light

You must connect an ODB-II code reader to determine what codes are stored (which will also indicate what has failed in your car that caused the Check Engine light to illuminate). Once you have repaired the defects, the ODB-II code reader may be used to reset the stored code condition.

Will not start no spark

Charged battery, good cables, good data from ODB, sparkplugs shiny and well gapped, key present and start pressed, no Irn Bru in the distributor or spark thyristor casing; starts. Wait, what spark indicator do you usually get; that's usually inside the engine and none too visible. Perhaps you're driving an actual Skinner Box and it shocks you when you try to text from the driver's seat?

How to jump start my car, battery in trunk, manual key won't unlock trunck

You need to have your ECU read, you can buy a ODB reader online for around 10bucks. Work with Bluetooth in sync with your phone. This way you can read error codes the ODB reader lists, look them up on the net and then take it from there.

For me, i helped alot when i had issues with my engine management light going on after i replaces parts on the block.

I need to check whether your car is using ODB or ODB2 port for the reader. Being i 2002 model im guess ODB, but have a look online.

Do alot of work on cars, except i dont have much experience with automatic transmission car's as we don't drive them much in Europe, we want pure performance :)

BMW x5 2001 manual tranny, cruise control not working, no indication on dash board. Wats the location of the cruise control modulem.

Could be as simple as a blown fuse. Check the fusebox below the driver's console and look at the inside diagram to determine the correct fuse. When that doesn't help, you could have a dealer read the car's faultcodes (using ODB) for further troubleshooting

ODB-II Trouble Code of 1151

P1151-Lack of HO2S-21 Switch, Sensor Indicates Lean
A Heated Exhaust Oxygen (HO2S) sensor indicating lean at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-rich condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.

A code P1151 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Electrical:
  • Short to VPWR in the harness or HO2S
  • Water in the harness connector
  • Open/shorted HO2S circuit
  • Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
  • Damaged HO2S
  • Damaged PCM
Fuel System:
  • Excessive fuel pressure
    Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
    Leaking fuel pressure regulator
Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
    Vapor recovery system
Induction System:
  • Air leaks after the MAF
  • Vacuum Leaks
PCV system:
  • Improperly seated engine oil dipstick
EGR System:
  • Leaking gasket
  • Stuck EGR valve
  • Leaking diaphragm or EVR
Base Engine:
  • Oil overfill
  • Cam Timing
  • Cylinder compression
  • Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)
Do you have any running or driveability problem, with this code usually you will not, check these things and makes repairs as necessary, not all of these will be wrong but at least one may be wrong, let me know what you find, hope this helps
