Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

On my 1997 geo metro i need help figuring what i can do to fix my tape-player/radio/stereo along with my cigarette lighter. checked fuses under hood all are okay.

The day i bought my geo. i had turned on the radio and was seeing how everything else worked. i pushed in the cigarette lighter to try it out. well the whole console moved backwards barley enough to notice it had. but at the very same time the radio shut off and i havent been able to get it to work since. id like to keep the one i have instead of buying a new one. im not sure if there are any other fuses im missing. but i need help asap

you will need to check behind the lighter and radio at the connections dont have access to your manual but you should have another fuse panel inside the car

i noticed the change -when the panel moved back possible to have popped the radio connection or the fuse

1997 geo metro will not start and blower to heater, radio and blinkers dont work.everthing else seems to work

check your Fuel Pump fuse. and all other fuses.
Should be about where left knee is (maybe a little to left of left knee) when sitting in drivers seat (under dash).

There is another one with all the big fuses under hood on driver's side next to fender .

My radio in my 1993 3000 gt won't give out any sound. a tech checked the fuse inside the car but isn't there one under the hood?

there is a fuse box under the hood, the radio along with cigarette lighter & possibly the interior light are on the same fuse,if these things are still working then the fuse may not be the problem,it depends what fuses the tech checked, some radios have a line fuse in the power wire to the radio you need to check there as well, you may have to take the radio out to do this.....hope this helps.....cheers

Where is the fuse for the cigarette lighter in 99' Chevey Metro

I have a similar prob with this crappy lighter. The lighter & radio run off the same fuse.
The fuse block is located near the hood release lever, under the dashboard towards the left side of the car. It's about 6" x 3" and white plastic. Can't miss it. The cover snaps off and the fuse is blue colored and 15 amp (says 15 on it).You can buy a pack of 5 of these at Walmart for about $3.
Looking at the fuse block, go to the furthest left verticle row of fuses. It should be the last or next to last 15 amper from the bottom. You will need needle nose pliers to pull it out.
Make sure ignition is off and start pulling 15 amp fuses, one at a time from the bottom then moving up and check to see if they are blown. You shouldn't have to pull more than 4 of them to find it.
What I plan to do is splice and aftermarket (Radio Shack) inline fuse into the hot or + side of the lighter wires. This way, hopefully if the lighter shorts, it won't take the clock and radio with it and will be much easier to replace the little "barrel" style fuse. Just make sure it's 15 amps. Hope this helps. ♥♥♥♥

Where is the cigarette lighter fuse box located on a 1997 chevy malibu

The fuse for the cigarette lighter/auxillary power is located in the under hood fuse/relay block. It is a 20 amp ATM (mini) fuse. It is fuse #34 and is yellow. The location will be shown on the underside of the fuse box cover. Look along the drivers and passenger side inner fender areas for the fuse box. Charlie

Radio fuse on 1997 Geo Metro

the appropriate fuse is blue (15A) and is third or fourth from the side of the car (the narrow end). Look at the fuse box cover.

1997 geo metro radio and cigerette lighter workin

The fuse in question is the "ACC" fuse and it is the 15A fuse that is third or fourth from the end of the fuse box that faces the side of the car (and it is under the dash behind the hood release). I've just had to replace mine several times in a row; you might want to check for a short.
