Hello Jacqueline Iannuzzi,

On the floor end of the shift column
before it goes through the fire-wall.
(standing on your head)

Big CAUTION ... DISCONNECT THE Battery
lest you be driving around... upside down
(like I did... (no accidents... but that not in my hands)).

Hope this helps

Could not see it here..http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1955,thunderbird,4.8l+292cid+v8,1435048,electrical?a=Ad+Code+msn-Ford

How do you wire a solenoid on a 1955 thunderbird 6 v

Hello Jacqueline Iannuzzi,

The actual solenoid on that car is on the side of the fender ...
Large lugs are for the BATTERY & STARTER Cables.

The small terminals If one comes directly from the "S" terminal of your IGNITION SWITCH...

In a simpler time the "other" terminal was the "B" power to the ignition switch
(you should NOT have the 2 wire solenoid (I don't think)).

Hope this helps

94 ford thunderbird lx v8 will not start and no noise

check battery volts should be 12.6 volts.if not battery is dead.if battery okay starter relay is bad on fenderwell next to battery or starter it self faulty.if all is good faulty neutral switch to transmission will cause no starter operation.turn off radio before disconnecting negative battery cable.

Neutral saftey switch or someing more

you may have to reset the computer!
A good trick is to put a 9 volt battery wired to a cigarett plug which stops this happening [saves the memory] while removing the 12 volt battery
