SOURCE: no heat only blows cold air

Not shure what heating coil you are talking about but you could have a bad heater control valve,a plugged up heater core,or you could be very low on water.

SOURCE: Interior lights on climate clontrol knobs don't work

After showing the dealership this site and the problems that others have had. I insisted that they take a look at it and solve the problem. FINALLY, they admitted that there are lights and that basically it is a pain to fix because they need to order a new module. After one day in the shop, I now have lights for the climate controls in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Do not let them tell you that it only is an option with the Limited. It is just flat out FALSE. I was so frustrated with my dealership because this is shady if you ask me, but they did fix it free of charge. Do your research, call JEEP themselves, and provide the dealership with facts and they should fix it. It's ridiculous how much work I had to do to get them to admit that the Laredo also had the option, but it failed. Don't back down!!!!!!!

Your best bet would be a salvage yard. Don't think anybody would stock it, maybe in a rack of replacement door handles, knobs, fittings, etc. for Oldsmobiles or GM products. More certain at salvage. Don't waste your time at a GM dealership- they will tell you the Achieva is obsolete and they can't order parts for it in most cases.

2006 focus cant get it off defrost

my knob broke from turning it because it became hard to turn--- i think the actuator is jammed or broke because even with a new knob, it turns freely and does not change selections.

I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra the thermostat opens, changed water pump. the heater still blows cold air .

you may have a problem with heater box. your air/mix door may have an issue. feel the knobs on the control unit. if the cold/heat know feels kinda funny from the other knobs, then thare is a problem with heater box/cables??

Heat blows out at floor only and ac does not come on even though light Indicates it's on. Has rear defrost and light works..Also has recirculating air button . I'm guessing the whole heating control in...

I would first remove the fuse for the heater control head for one minute and then put in and retry.
The control head could have locked up on you with a volt spike. The rear defrost switch does not go through the same circuit in the heat as the hvac controls. Could be a broken know also.
Could also be mechanical linkage on side of heater box above accelerator pedal may have broken or popped apart. or if electrical motor control may be actuator.

Heating stays on and no a/c

this is probably in the knob that you adjust the hot/cold, some of these knobs actually run a cable and spring time is the first time its noticed because during the winter if you tried to adjust the knob you adusted it to heat and then tried for cool for fresh air or something, the hinges on doors in the duct work were stiff or grease was solid and put too much on the gear system or cam system that runs the cables and it broke. but you didnt' notice it until spring/summer because you didn't fully need the 'cool' air until then. however if yours is an electric switch then you probably have a bad contact. it is also possible that a vacuum line could be broke, ford used vacuum to move duct doors through the 2000's

Lights in the a/c console knobs in the Jetta 02 not working

Usually on the VW's if the A/C console lights don't work the console is malfunctioning/broke. If your switches still work the a/c, heat, vents, etc. it just means the light is out and to fix this problem would probably require a "New" console. I purchased on from the dealer for around $100 and did it myself, it was not a fun experience. Check to see if your cruise control works...for some reason my lights were out but switches worked and my cruise control was out.

No heat or defrost

Start your truck and warm it up to normal operating temp. Keep an eye on your temp gauge, when its at normal open the hood and locate the top hose off the radiator. With a rag or gloves grab the hose and squeeze it, your should be able to squeeze it with a lttile effort if not and the hose is real tight chances are your thermostat is sticking in wich case the temp gauge will be way above the norm. What i am thinking is this will not be the case, i think that your knob that regulates your heat has a broken cable. If so its a real pain in the **** to replace what i would do is locate your heater hoses(there will be 2) about 3 quarter,s of an inch round. Follow them to the point were there,s a valve inline with the cable there (by the firewall) attached or maybe broke there. This valve regulates your heat from the knob inside just move it (by hand or with pliers) to open it and you,ll get heat. Now this will have to be closed in the summer of course for the a/c to work. Hope this helps, sucks being cold! To change the thermostat just follow the top main radiator hos and with a half inch socket and ratchet remove the 2 bolts that hold it to the intake manifold pull it up and you,ll see the thermostat pull it out and replace it with a new 1 and a gasket (no permatex) replace the bolts start thr car warm it up and check for leaks.

Replace lighting behind the heater controls

Yeah , something would have broke for real had you pried it any more.
There is a bulb just below the control panel that lights the panel up... and more screws to remove to access it. The ones behind the knobs need to be replaced ( they hold the switches to the face plate), and you need to unscrew the ones behind the trim and above the ash tray.
The trim comes off in one piece (held by clips).
