How can i tell if theres enough pad left on the clutch. The clutch for a 1986 4 zinger 60cc has been discontinued.

Clutch does not slip but when clutch pedal is pressed down does not let clutch release. how much travel should the slave cylinder have and is there any adjustments i can try.


Since your clutch is operated by hydraulic pressure, there is no adjustment. If pushing in the clutch pedal doesn't release the clutch, then the most common cause is either air in the system or the master or slave has failed. If the clutch is the original factory one then it is possible that the clutch itself has worn.

I got a 1986 jeep commanche, with the 2wd, 2.5 4cyl. i changed the clutch master cylinder, and the slave cylinder- and bled them forever with a clear hose on the bleeder screw going into a botlle of fliud....


did you change clutch assy itself? some of those had a fork that would go either way but inly one is right and it had a steel ball as a pivot inside bell housing. also do you have the plastic tip on your slave cyl?

1986 F250 manual 4 speed tranny. replaced slave and master. still same problem have clutch all the way to the floor to change gears and some times still not enough to change gears. its only in 1st and...


yes it sounds like the clutch is worn.1st thing when a cutch wears is its hard to get in reverse
as long as all air is bleed out(pedal feels normal)not a bad job unless its 4 wheel drive

Where is the fuel filter located on 1986 cressida what does it look like? and how hard to change


Is located underneath the car by the driver side, looks like a fuel filter and requires special tools (tubing wrenches) if you don't use those tools there is a lot chances that damage to the lines will be inflicted, if that happen the fuel lines are discontinue.

Left side. lay underneath, just in front of the rear tyre. It is encased with a bracket holding it in place, easy enough to get of with a screwdriver but there is no stopper in the fuel line so be prepared to be drenched in fuel.

Shift fork may also be one of the reason! watch the shift fork while moving the clutch in and out.
1)The shift fork is near the clutch master cylinder on the tranmission housing. you should now move the fork left and right while the clutch is moved in and out. 2)From your query, it sounds to me that your clutch is not engaging and disengaging completely. 3) This is due to the air block. Make a bleeding process to blow the air out! 4)A broken shift fork will also prohibit the clutch from engaging/disengaging.

OK, we are nearer the facts.
Most cars have more than 1 of the same type of Main Power distribution relay. Locate the Starter Solenoid Relay and Interchange it with 1 of likeness, from a Circuit, such as the Headlights.
The Battery and Alternator, connections must be checked for Tightness and Cleanliness. The supply cable from the Battery to the Starter solenoid, ditto, the power feed to the Solenoid from the ignition start switch, and the Metal bridge from the Starter Solenoid to the Starter Motor, ditto. The Ground connection from the Battery or common coupling to the Engine casing. Being an Electrician you will understand the circuit principles.
Having done all these things, then there should now be no further problem.
However, as was described, this is a Rebuild Starter and there is a possibility that the Solenoid Copper internal contacts are not of good substance, and React to Engine heat which eventually disables it from energising when required after a journey. Or the possibility that the Start Solenoid of the Motor, is already in a state of progressive failure.
Food for thought.

Replace rear brake cyllinders, rear brake pads, tank and left driveshaft


rear brake cylinders are straight foward you shouldn't have any probs withe brakes side of things. the drive shaft bolts on and off with no problems forseen i have done many just take your time and think before you act good luck
