Santa Fe makes a little weaving when shifting gears

Sounds like worn ball joints or/and tie rod ends. When the transmission shifts, power is momentarily removed from the front wheels. Worn components (expected now on a 2001) allow the wheels to change direction slightly, hence the "weaving" you mention.

I own a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe and my transmission is stuck in manual mode it won't go past number one I can't get it back over into automatic mode and I want to know what might be the problem

The big question here is how did it work before it got stuck the transmission I mean .
Did it shift OK before it got stuck if no you have a big problem with your trany .
If it worked good then look at the key switch it locks the shift lever so you can't shift it with your foot on the brake or any linkages connecting to this system its all on the steering collum or a linkage to the transmission

Where is the location of the transmission filter on a 2001 Hyundai Sante Fe?

it is located inside the transmission attached to the bottom of the hydraulic control called the valve body, to replace the filter/strained you must remove the pan from the transmission, a very, very messy job.

2001 SANTA FE - WON'T SHIFT AUTOMATICALLY

Based on what you write, I feel you have an automatic transmission problem, based on the fact that the transmission will not shift on its own into fourth gear. This could be a problem internally within the valve body and or clutch packs.
Remedy, or a good place to start with a diagnosis is a transmission service.

The person doing the service can inform you further.

If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.
