Check your position on your ignition switch. The key might not be in the off position. Which kills the battery.

Trying to figure out alternator fuse number on 2010 Dodge journey sxt don't see the word alternator on fuse box have new battery and alternator but still goes click click when trying to start it

The alternator fuse has nothing to do with that . If starter solenoid is just clicking an you have a new battery it's more then likely battery cables or connections . To test the starter circuit you need to do voltage drop testing . The alternator doesn't start working till the vehicle starts an is running . Starter Voltage Drop

did you test the battery to make sure it can hold a charge. If the alternator goes sometimes it takes the battery with it ( orthe battery can cause the alternator to go)

Battery goes dead while car is sitting

It wouldn't be the starter. It will not draw current when not engaged. Could be a light left on, a trunk light, glove box light, under hood light-an unintended drain, somewhere. Sometimes a penny or something gets stuck in cigar lighter and keeps that circuit on.
You should check if alternator is fully charging up the battery after it has run, and then turned off. But if you don't have a voltmeter handy, try this: When you shut if off to sit overnight, take the negative battery terminal off the battery. When you get ready to start it, hook up the battery and see if battery is no longer weak. If battery is now good, you do have an unintended drain. If battery is weak again, check charging system, battery cables and connections, alternator connections-a loose connection will prevent battery from charging.
If you have a drain, turn everything off and remove key. Pull the bulb out for the underhood light. Take negative off battery again, and hook up a testlight between the negative battery cable terminal and the negative battery post. If something is pulling current, the testlight should be bright. Now at fuse panel under dash, pull fuses one at a time and watch the testlight. If you pull a fuse and the testlight goes off, that circuit has the unintended drain. Check everything on that circuit.
Hope you find the problem. Good luck.

Battery is being drainrd

have your starter tested, dodge starters tend to pull too much voltage when tey go bad, they will still start the veh, but it drains the battery, and alternator can't charge enough to compensate for the drain.therefore it will kill the alternator and battery

My 1999 mitsubishi diamante will not start. I got a friend to jump it but it still would not start. I took the battery out and took it to autozone to charge it. But autozone would not charge it because...

It sounds like you need a new starter. If you hear the starter click when you turn the key to start, replace your starter since you already replaced the battery. You might want to have your alternator checked out, or when you get your car started, test the battery terminals with a multimeter. You should have around 14 volts with the car running. If not, you will need a new alternator. The alternator won't keep the car from starting though, unless the battery was drained because it wasn't charged. Even then it is the battery keeping the car from starting.

If the starter is not clicking, check your fuses under the hood. If all checks out, you may have a bad ignition switch.

Where are the radio fuses for a 2001 Dodge Dakota? When the truck sits overnight, when you go out the next morning to start it up all I get is a clicking noise from the starter. I checked the battery and...

leaving the radio on all night would not cause the battery to drain away like this providing its a good one .try disconnecting the battery overnight and see if it still drains as sometimes a battery can drain flat on its own which is caused by sulphation across the internal plates in the cells ,then if if it starts the next moring the battery is ok ,so next is to discoinnect the alternator large terminal off the alternator and try that and if it starts the following day renew the alternator as a rectifying diode is down running battery flat ,if still a proble then out comes the tester to look for a relay that has the contacts stuck together or the favourite boot light but this is a pick up truck so i would suspect the alternator

Battery draining bought a new one same thing maybe alternator not keeping battery charged

maybe. Do you have a voltmeter? Check voltage at battery with engine running. Should be at least 14 volts. no voltmeter? take alternator to parts store for testing.

If alternator is good, check for shorts. Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5925550-dead_battery_troubleshooting . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Battery keeps draining new battery and alternaltor

Sounds like an alternator. When it goes bad, your car is forced to run off of the battery , which wont last long depending on what all you have running .
The alternator keeps your battery charged after your car starts.
Try replacing the alternator and let me know if you have any more problems.
