I would take the truck to an autoparts store and have the fault codes retrieved from the computer. Most stores will do the scan for free. I would lean toward a faulty throttle position sensor, but that's just speculation. The fault codes should narrow the problem down. Hope this helped and best wishes.

SOURCE: Where is place to add

There should be a dipstick located in the cab or on the right side of cab. If in the cab, under the floor mat there is a trap door. The tranny is directly under the cab.

93 5,8l. Ford F150xlt throttle cuts out while driving, realese petal and works again.? New f filter and plugs wires

I had a very similar problem. Mine was caused by a weak in tank fuel pump. As long as I wasn't asking for too much fuel, it ran fine, but the moment I put my foot into, it would cough and sputter and try to die. But once I pulled my foot off the accelerator It would either cut off completely or idle and run fine, until I again would try to make it over the hill into Hillsboro. Hope this has helped you

I have a 97 ford expedition starts but turns off unless foot is on the gas?

Hello, Sounds like a throttle position sensor is bad. This part is on the Airhorn and has 2 mounting screws and 1 connector. Usually the TPS will set a "check light" if it is defective.
The switch is the first electric part after the accelerator cable attaches to the throttle shaft. On one side is the foot cable attachment and on the other side is this TPS. When the accelerator cable moves, it makes the TPS move and then the electrical values are changed.

When the electrical values are changed, the entire system of spark advance, fuel supply, and transmission shifts are sent through the system as a result of the TPS.

Did you reset the computer because if you don't the computer does'nt reconize the new sensor and it will run as if you did'nt even replace it.You can reset it with a scan tool,or take the ground cable off battery for 30 seconds or pull the ECM fuse then put it back.

Where is the throttle on a 95 ford econoline. Someone said it is on the accelarator?

start with your right foot.the accelerator pedal, attached to the throttle cable.attached to the throttle body attached to a butterfly valve inside the throttle body(of a carburettor)it is a tube of say 2"slimming down to 1.1/2" widening to 2"with the thinest part housing a fuel jet,and it is this tunnel effect that causes a rapid flow of air that mixes fuel in the inlet manifold.attached to the cylinder head etcetera
any help?

Stuck accelerator

This problem needs a trained eye to check it out. There are shops other than the dealers, but please do take it in to a reputable shop. This is one you want to make sure is fixed right and someone needs to look at what's going on with your car... Highly recommend it soon.
