already checked fuses AND replaced the resister...nothing thats why i checked on here i already did the obvious checks.....is there anyway to check the hot cold control with the vacuum lines and wires hooked to it thinking thats the prob...

  • Randy Ohler Dec 11, 2016

Does the blower come on? Any speed? If so, yes there is a vacuum module in the heater hose lines . it could be bad or lost vacuum. Could be lost vacuum from the engine to the controller also.

Check fuses first, power to the resistor. good, replace the resistor that is close to where the blower mounts.

Just a note. blower power comes from the ignition. Yours has a resistor and a high speed fan relay. Check for power and ground. at the resistor and the relay.

Blower Motor on 2000 Saturn SL

The blower motor is connected to a termic switch, when the motor is fine and fuse is ok, is the switch that must be replaced.

Ensure the fuse is ok first.

BLOWERMOTOR

Is there a blower resistor module and/or relay? The blower resistor module often has a zener diode that burns out over time.(If you find this issue, see if you have a plugged up cabin air filter also).

I replace the blower fan in my 1998 Ford Escort SE sedan becuase the old motor was shot. (would not run with direct 12V positve and negative leads connected) I check the new motor usig the above...

on this model you need to inspect the blower resistor and connector,
a poor connection at the resistor and connector causes heat and burns the wiring.
if its burnt replace the resistor and find a good connector at the salvage yard.
it is near the blower motor

2004 expedition when a turn on the AC the vents in the front don't blow any air

sounds like the front blower motor is bad on the passenger side under the dash. remove the panel under dash and you will see the blower motor housing and blower motor. check the plug in on the bottom of motor if it is plugged up and not working pull the motor out by removing the screws around motor and dropping out hook directly to battery and see if it works if it does it is a fuse or relay.

Blower stopped working on 1998 ford galaxy, ran wires to blower direct and works!Could it be resistor or ellectronic control unit, how could i check?

check for voltage at the blower motor on all settings. if no voltage check the blower motor resistor or relay. if it has a resistor it will be right beside the blower motor, if it has a relay it will be the relay on the firewall under the hood.it will probably have a purple, orange, blue, and black wires. as you said it works directly.it can be resistor or relay.the blower is fine. thanks.
