Could be the fan is dead. Check it first, direct power. If good, look at replace the fuse panel/TIPM. Easy with a scanner to check fans and wires/plugs.

Did you have the computer reset? Usually parts places like Advance, Auto Zone, or others have a thing they can read codes and reset them. If it keeps coming back then more checking needs to be done. Maybe the relay is damaged?

Dodge ram 1500 3.7L single cab sxt. I'm getting P0480 CODE Low speed (No.1) Fan control relay circuit. Where is the relay located if it actually exists because I've been looking everywhere?

It is in the fuse block that is under the hood. However it can be other things than the relay. It could be

The fan itself is bad.
The wiring to the fan is bad
The coolant sensor in the radiator is bad
The air intake temp sensor is bad.

I have a 08 nitro that the cooling fan never comes in causing over heating I've replaced water pump radiator heater core because it was bad the relay seems fine power coming in and out but no fan on

check fuses and coolant temp sensor
the coolant temperature sensor unit ( that is SENSOR not gauge sender unit) sends a report to the ecm to turn on the radiator fan when the temp is reached
If the fan is not coming on then the circuit is broken--sensor, wires ,fuses relay, fan-ecm
all have to be checked out

P0480 error

Hi Sheri.

That's a problem with the cooling fan relay. Could be the relay, the fans, the PCM, the ECT Sensor, the air conditioning pressure switch and the wiring connecting all of that. Likely the fans or relay that's causing the problem.

Check engine light came on computer code says p0480 what does that mean ?

P0480 is for the electrical circuit of the cooling fan relay. The cooling fan relay is about the size of a deck of cards only a little taller. It's mounted to the metal bumper support under the bumper cover on the left side, near the headlight. It has aluminum cooling "towers" on top to dissipate heat. The most likely cause for this code to set would be a failed relay. It can also be caused by a short or open circuit on the control wiring running to it, and be sure to check all fuses in the box under the hood.

I have a 2000 Pontiac grand am i get a reading of P0480?? Please help

P0480 has to do with cooling fan relay, fuse, circuit or the fan it self, start car, turn on A/C the cooling fan should come on with a/c on and car in park engine at idle RPM. If it don't then you will have to troubleshoot and find out what has failed.

Shows a code of P0480, what is this code for thanks

this is a code for the cooling fan. possible causes are a faulty cooling fan relay. shorted or open fan wiring. defective fan motor or internal problem with pcm.It will be hard to test without having a scan tool capable of commanding the relay on so you can check to see if fan is receiving power or relay is closing. to eliminate fan crank car and turn a/c on fan should come on with a/c. if it does then fan is good.the fan relay is in the power distribution box located by the battery. this would be an inexpensive part to try.
