Use drill and drill out the center, or use flat tip big screwdriver and hammer it is as far as it will go or pry it open. Pull real hard they will pop open

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Please allow me to assist you.

Perhaps you are using the wrong key. Camrys come with two different keys; a 'master' key and a 'valet' key.

The 'valet' key will NOT unlock the glovebox.

I would recommend that you visit your nearest Toyota delership's parts department, and present them the 17 digit Vehicle Identification Number from your car. Using the VIN, the Parts Dept can get you the key code for your car, which would be the 'master' key. Take the code provided to a locksmith, he can cut you a new master key.

See if that helps you out.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance today.

Well i actually have the exact same problem! I locked something in mine yesterday, and expected I should be able to unlock it again but not it will not open with the key! Guess I will try to just pry it open! How did you ever get yours to open up?

See if you can get to the hinge screws from underneath the door & undo them it may give you enough room to access the lock inside

page 14 of your owners manual shows how to lock unlock the child proof setup on door -----open door and by latch will see the the lock move to unlock position ! CAUTION LOCKING WITH REAR DOOR CHILDPROTECTORS Turn the lock knob to the "LOCK" position as shown on the label. 1992 camry key won't open doors

The key or the lock or both may be worn. You will need an auto locksmith. It is also possible that the lock linkage inside the door is broken.

Lock then unlock the doors with the power lock button, with all doors closed (key not in ignition). If this doesnt work, try again using the key to lock and unlock from the driver door, with all doors closed.

96 Toyota Camry keys are not working to open locked door from outside. First the passenger side and now the driver's side door.

Try spraying some silicon lubricant into the keyhole and slide the key in and out a few times.

If this does not work you may have to remove the interior door panel and trouble shoot the lock mechanism.

It's also possible the lock cylinders are worn and need to be rebuilt. This can be done by a qualified locksmith (look for a AAA certified locksmith). Or you can order new lock cylinders and get them re-keyed to match your ignition key.

Can't turn key all the way on 1996 Toyota Camry.

Is your steering wheel locked? Turn the key as much as you can, then turn the steering wheel and see if it releases the lock. You should be able to completely turn the key after this.
