Have the inner and outer tie rod ends checked as well - inner joints can wear out causing loose feeling steering.

Why does my 2009 gmc Acadia sway at highway speed

Make sure the tire pressures are at the recommended pressure. Check for worn steering/suspension components particularly the front/rear stabilizer links as one or more may be broken.Has the alignment ever been checked rot proper angles?

I jusr replace outer tie rod ends and had a front end alignment, had all the tireschecked and rotated, i have a a slight play in the steering wheel , My question is could it be sway bar links or bushings

The sway bar has little to do with steering, it stabilizes the chassis. The play in the steering could be in the rack & pinion assembly. The shop that did the alignment should be able to check that out.

Steering problem. It seems loose and allows the van to drift

check the sway bar links. the sway bar is the long solid bar that goes to each tire up front. the links are what connects the bar to the lower control arm. this is what controls the vehicle from swaying or drifting

My Pontiac Sunfire has a rattle near the front left tire area while driving. Could this be a strut or spring problem? Can hear it most when coasting on a bumpy area.

It could be a worn or broken sway bar link or sway bar bushing. Inspect all the suspension parts such as the steering linkage just to be safe, but pay attention to the sway bar system. Mainly the bushing and replace any that is damaged or worn with urethane bushings, they cost a bit more but last a life time of the car. Good luck and hope this helps.
