To figure out what the car is lacking, owners should press the accelerator when the car starts to lose power. If this helps the car gain power, the problem is not fuel delivery. If pushing the accelerator does not help the car run smoother, fuel restriction is the problem. To find the problem, owners should first check the fuel filter for clogs or impurities. After the fuel filter is clean, the owner should purchase a fuel additive designed to clear out blockages in the fuel lines. Also, it is important to check to see if there are any fuel lines that are leaking or cracked and to inspect the fuel pump to see if it is working correctly.
A loss of power can be caused by any number of problems. A good place to start is the exhaust system. Car owners should check for any holes or gaps between the exhaust and the muffler. If the car has a catalytic converter, this part also needs to be tested. This can be accomplished by hitting the converter with a rubber mallet. If there is a rattling noise, it needs to be replaced. Other possible causes of a loss of power include bad spark plugs and misfiring cylinders.

Toyota diagram cruis control

The cruise control on modern Toyota vehicles is built into the ECU.
You may only need to install the stalk and the wire jumper that connects the stalk to the spiral cable, but some vehicles are missing the wire that runs from the spiral cable to the ECU. The parts are about $110.

1990 ford bronco idles fine when you accelerate the gas loses power and backfires through the intake

Fuel delivery problem, not enough fuel on acceleration could cause backfires. Many things cause backfires, mechanical and electronic. I need more info to give a better diagnosis. Did the problem happen all of a sudden or has the vehicle been running crappy for awhile.

Cruise control not working in 5th gear ford c max 55reg

Hi, did you already solve this problem with cruis control in european Ford Focus C-Max? I just activated cruis control in my car... It normaly works on 3th and 4th gear (manual transmission). On 5th gear it works only sometimes - I have to put the gas pedal down and then press the "+" or "RES" button, if I cancel selected speed and than again press "+" or "RES" button, the LED of cruis control on the dashboard flash for 1 sec and nothing will happen.

Loses power when it warms up

Hi Tyrone, More information would be good? does the vehicle backfire during acceleration or deceleration? Is the engine petrol or diesel? have a cylinder compression test carried out. To do this, remove either a spark plug or glow plug from each cylinder one at a time. Have someone inside the vehicle to crank the engine and keep a foot flat to the floor on the accelerator pedal. Crank the engine ten revolutions and take the reading. The reading should be around 90 to 110 lbs and not vary between cylinders more than about 8 lbs. If you have a variation greater, take an oil can and squirt twice into the combustion chamber. If the reading improves, the indication is worn rings. If the reading remains more or less the same, the indication is burned valves. The latter is more likely the cause of backfiring. Backfiring can also be caused by incorrect ignition timing. If the vehicle is fitted with points and condenser, a defective condenser can be the cause, but it is better to replace both at the same time. Hope this has been of some help. Regards John
