I use a pair of adjustable pliers to grab the plastic part that holds the hub cap on. It will mark it up some but works.

I would suggest buying a Haynes/Chilton book for both models, they may even be one in the same if the years are close enough. Look up the schematics for both and compare the differences circuit by circuit. There may be some slight differences with connection fittings, but thoroughly review the schematic diagrams first.
