YOU NEED NEW HEAD BOLTS OLD HEAD BOLTS BEEN STRETCHED. YOU HAVE TORQUE HEAD BOLTS IN FIVE PASSES. FIRST PASS TORQUE HEAD BOLTS 18 FT LBS. SECOND PASS ADD ADDITIONAL 90 DEGREES.THIRD PASS ADD ADDITIONAL 90 DEGREES.FOURTH PASS ADD ADDITIONAL 90 DEGREES.FIFTH PASS ADD 15 DEGREES.

MY 2001 CHEVY BLAZER WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE IF EMISSION PROBLEMS


Its generally a Catalytic Converter. Get a cheap one and get your emission passed. I've replaced everything, tuned everything, done everything, tried every trick...When I gave up and had a $100 Cat put on, It set a record for the cleanest emissions ever. Go figure.

Head bolt torque spec for 98 caravan 2.4 thank you


Cylinder head bolt torque specs:
1st pass 25 ft-lbs
2nd Pass 50 ft-lbs
3rd Pass 75 ft-lbs
Final Pass tighten plus (+)1/4 turn = 90-degrees
BOLT ORDER:
10----6----2----3----7

9----5----1----4----8
START WITH 1 THEN 2 THEN 3 ....ETC.
END WITH 10 = 1ST PASS.

Do it in three passes 1st pass 27 inch pounds 2nd pass 106 inch pounds 3rd and final pass (carefull it changes up on ya a bit) 11 foot pounds.

Rod and main bolt torque specs


rods bearings for the 4.2 engine is.18 ft lbs +110 degrees. main bearings 18 ft lbs +180 degrees. the 5.3 engine rod bearings torque is.15 ft lbs +85 degrees.main bearings is inner bolts 1st pass 15 ft lbs .final pass is 80 degrees.outer bolts 1st pass is15 ft lbs .final pass is additional 51 degrees.the m8 bolts 18 ft lbs..the 6.0 engine rod bearings torque is 15 ft lbs plus 85 degrees.the main bearings torque is inner bolt 1st pass 15 ft lbs .final pass plus 80 degrees. outer bolts .1st pass 15 ft lbs final pass plus 51 degrees.m8 bolts 18 ft lbs.

Torque specs.


connecting rod = first pass 18 ft lbs , second pass 75 degrees

main bearings = first pass 37 ft lbs , second pass 77 degrees

wow that wasn't easy to find for some reason .
