Question about 1989 Pontiac Bonneville
Use a small piece of wire like a paper clip bent to a long U shape.
With the key on, engine off, short (connect) the two right most terminals in the upper row of the diagnostic connector under dash.
Diligently observe the flashes of the check engine light and count the long/short blinks, make note of them and check them against a table of codes (they represent two digit numbers). Look online at BATauto.com for this info. Reset by disconnecting the negative battery cable briefly (be sure you have codes for any alarm or radios, and cna rest the clock first).
