SOURCE: S70 GLT head replacement

the easiest way to remove the head is to completely remove the exhaust manifold from the engine and turbo assy. you CAN just unbolt it from the engine , but it takes a good bit of wiggling to get it off if you are leaving thre manifold in the car

maybe check your spark plugs? sounds easy but if the firing order is out of order it will misfire quite bad....hope this helps!

Either timing or it needs a bigger shot of fuel when you step on it. Bigger accelerator pump shot might help. Is the carb jetted correctly for your application?

Car coughs when I step on the gas


One possible issue is the carbs are not staged. In most cases one has to be delayed from the other depending on the configuration of the intake manifold.
Another possible issue could be not enough accel pump travel or too late. Not enough fuel coming thru the accel pump circuit on one or both carbs.
Either way, its probably too much air and not enough fuel in the mix.

Ill take it from the top i have an 1989 ford f150 aod with a 302 5.0 vin n it idles rough and is sluggish on take off but after about 2000 rpm it goes away some what,worse when under load.i installed a...


replace your air filter.
You listed alot of stuff. You 5.0 should be screaming. No cold air intake? Thats an easy 10-20 hp.

I have a 91 dodge dakota 318 when i am driving it at a steady speed it is hitching and jumping bad and sometimes even a little backfire


there is a bushing in the block under the distributer that wears out, you have to take dist cap off [assuming you have the stock dist with no vac advance] if you can turn the rotor one way then the other way and it travel more than 1/16 of an inch the the bush is worn out. remove dist drive gear with some needle nose pliers in the slot check gear teeth on it and replace gear if any wear noted. check cam gear with flashlight if teeth worn down replace cam shaft [very rare cams bad,only seen that once]there is a speciall procedure to put it back together so get a manuel or ask the dealer to print you off a copy when you buy the parts [block bushing/dist gear]
also the plug wires on on i forgot the cyl numbers but they are the two rear ones on the right side [in U.S. pass side] they must be rerouted so they do not run near each other the forward wire should be routed straight up and forward og the tab on the valve cover that holds wire loom.the coil wire needs to be completly seperated from the loom and ran olong the joint were the intake meets the head [under hoses wires etc.] them looped down at back of manifold and into cap.
the point is to prevent cross fire wich is real common on the v6 and 8.

Wiring an hei distributor


You shouldn't need a spark box because thee coil is located in the dist. cap. You need to run a 12v switched power source to the side of the dist. cap that is marked dist. if it isn't maked it is the term. that is on the front right of the conector pad. the one on the left is for hooking up a tach.

well the first thing to check will be to make sure that the valves are adjusted properlyto me it sounds that the valves are not set right can you briefly explain whow you adjusted the valves in your engine?
