Why does the dashboard reads high engine temperature, and the engine revs. high, and the antifreeze level is down a bit ?

If the coolant level isn't full and you get air in the system, all the sensors will read incorrectly since those sensors depend on being completely immersed in liquid at all times.

High temperatures with proper coolant levels can come from a stuck thermostat that isn't allowing water to circulate thru the radiator. Even in cold weather, with a stuck thermostat, the engine can overheat if the coolant doesn't circulate and the coolant will overflow into the overflow container and maybe all the way out if the engine gets too hot from non-circulation

My 1991 Chevy Cavalier has just turned 100, 500 miles and has started acting up, went to ck my antifreeze and when i took the radiator cap off ( car is started) the antifreeze in the car was just sitting...

It does not circulate until the engine is warm. At that point the thermostat(cooling valve) opens allowing the coolant , from the radiator ,to circulate into the engine. Before that point only the coolant already in the engine circulates, inside the engine alone. .

Yes it would overheat without circulation, but the coolant doesn't circulate through the overflow tank. That reservoir only gets coolant into it when the coolant gets hot and expands and pushes the radiator cap seal up to let coolant into the reservoir. When the vehicle cools down, the coolant contracts and the lower level in the radiator will siphon the coolant out of the reservoir back into the radiator. Coolant circulation is from the engine to the radiator and back into the engine...and also through the heater core.
You may have an air block in the heater core. Check by taking off the outlet hose at the firewall or at the engine and see if you have a slow steady stream of coolant, with the engine running and heater controls on high heat. If it was an air block, a steady stream should quickly start. If you get little or no flow, the core may be plugged and need flushing backward or replaced.

740il BMW Water not circulating

If coolant is not circulating there is either a blockage in the line somewhere or most likely you will have to replace the thermostat.

Coolant doesn't circulate in raditor. Also coolant blows back through raditor.

the coolant is probably not circulating because either the water pump impellers are worn or broken off of the shaft, the rad maybe plugged or possibly the thermostat has seized closed causing a restriction in the system.the coolant blows back because its not circulating and over heating and will escape were it can.

What will happen if thermostat is removed from Nissan TD27 engine? will there be a coolant circulation through -out the engine or coolant in the radiator will only circulate?

your engine will never reach operating temperature, and turn over operation to the pcm. you will burn much more fuel and have poor performance. the coolant will circulate fairly normally, however your heater will probably blow luke warm air.

Coolant won't circulate

How do you know that the coolant won't circulate? The coolant shouldn't circulate until the engine reaches a temp that tells it to cool the engine. At that time the thermostat will kick on and allow the coolant to circulate. If it still won't then you either have a bad pump, a bad thermostat, or the belt isn't on the water pump.
