I have 1996 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo my motor is


they made 5million I6s
most work.
what is the question, ?
  1. long block
  2. short block
  3. or long + all manifolds, no most of the manifolds will not work.
there are other issues, legal
say you are in calif, and they disallow older motors on POINT.
serial numbers. and date codes.?

i cant answer for law , only fit and work. (no country even stated or state) and one mans fit is other mans, horror.
most things can be made to fit, if SKILLED.
bolt in swaps, sure.

any motor re-builder shows this,ever look there?
years of applicability are well known by them.
first google hit , am i lucky?

How do you replace 2 motor mounts on a 1993 jeep grand cherokee


you will need a small floor jack or at least a bottle jack and a small peice of 2x4,, remove nuts from all the motor mounts, place jack under oil pan and lift until bolts clear frame remove the two mounts you are replacing put in new slowly lower jack throw your nuts back on good to go

no, the 2000 jeep grand Cherokee is a little bit more round when the 1996 is a little bit more square. the door will not fit properly

I'm trying to locate the thermostat on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee


  1. On 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8
  2. Remove lower radiator hose clamp and lower radiator hose at thermostat housing.
  3. Remove thermostat housing mounting bolts, thermostat housing and thermostat.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l v6
Note:on the In-line 6 4.0L model the thermostat housing is mounted at the top of the engine block next to the water pump.

What other kinds of motors will fit into a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8? I heard some dodge motors would fit but I don't know what year or what make.


dodge is mopar what you have is mopar (jeep) 97 to 2003 i think will fit there tuff to come across i had hard time myself

Will the 4L I6 engine from a 2001 Cherokee fit into a 2000 Grand Cherokee? Same engine, different body, different year.


You should be able to switch with no major changes. You will have to reuse the mounts from your original body. Be careful when you install the engine into the trans housing. The crank sensor is bolted to the engine and if you do not remove it, guaranteed it will break.

What is your question? You have metric tools. Are you missing a size ? Which nut? Caliper mount or brake hose. Or torx fitting?
