Question about Nissan SKYLINE

My 2007 v36 starts and idles but won't rev at all....please anyone I want to know what to do .....could it be cam sensor

SOURCE: starts,idles & runs fine, but won't rev over 2400

This is indication of faulty MAF sensor. Its located on the air inlet, look and the air filter box and follow it to the engine there inline you will see the mass air flow sensor and the air intake temp sensor is built into the mass air flow sensor. when you locate the air filter box you will see the maf sensor its bolted to air box.Make sure the connector is good and also the wiring.Remove the MAF sensor, clean it and recheck.Also try driving without MAF sensor.If its revs fine, then its faulty MAF.------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

you have a wrong timing fit. might out a tooth on camshaft and that's the reason you have noisy revs. be careful do not force it because you will bend valves. take it back to the garage for second check. Happens sometime.

If you are doing this with no load on the engine in park or neutral then the engine computers automatic rev limiter is kicking in to prevent free wheel/no load damage to the engine components

It's possible that when you installed the roller cam, you didn't properly align the cam rotation with the crankshaft (off by one gear tooth); or when you reinstalled the distributor, the same error may have occurred. Check your ignition timing on No. 1 cylinder at Top Dead Center to see if the rotor is roughly aligned with No. 1 plug wire on distributor cap.

2002 sebring sudddenly will not rev over 1500 rpm


start car, try to rev (try to cause error)... allow to idle for 30 secs
shut off car, with car stopped, turn key, on-off-on-off-leave on. codes will be displayed in odometer readout.

if code P0340 it is the cam sensor, very easy fix, one bolt.

When i start my car it revs up to 4000 rpms why does it do this


Your idle may be set to high for one. Two, you may have a bad map sensor. Also, you may have a bad idle control sensor. Anyone of these can cause the problem. Is your check engine light on? If so, get it scanned at Autozone. A code for one of these may come up. I would check these out. More so the idle control sensor. Test them with a voltage meter first and make sure they are getting and giving the correct current. If you need anything else, please let me know. I am here to help. Thanks for using FixYa.

2000 dodge intrepid 2.7 sputtering, revs up


you need to ck some basics you could have a vacuum leak which would hide during warm up but cause havoc when hot,the leak would cause high idle then your pcm would try to lower idle to spec thru use of idle control motor causing surging idle ,also fuel pressure needs to be checked while acting up,may be more cost effective to pay for an hour of diagnostic.
