Any one of dozens of things, from dirty plugs, failing fuel pump, to any one of the dozens of sensors in the vehicle. Stopping whilst running makes me think sensors. Attach the vehicle to a code reader.

Replace the pgmfi relay (main relay), it's up under the drivers side dash and has "mitsuba" written on the side. They were a common problem, relatively cheap and really just maintenance after this long. If that doesn't solve your problem, you'll need a new distributor.

Car will be running great and all of a suddon it will die but it will start rite back up

This can be caused by many things. The most common is an intermittent connection to the Crankshaft Position Sensor or the sensor itself. Find the wiring harness to the sensor and wiggle andpull on the harness with the engine running to see if you can make it die. If it dies, you probably need to fix the wires inthe harness. If you can't make it die, let it run for a while and see if it dies on its own. If it will die while just sitting there idling, replace the sensor.

did you use the gas that was in the tank? when gas sits for that long the oil and water separate. this is the most common reason that cars run like **** after sitting for so long. you may want to siphon the old gas out and put new in.

Motor dies for no reason

Sounds like fuel starvation.
Check fuel lines for leaks/blockages. I don't know your motor and even if it has a carburetor, probably fuel injectors which are a common weak link in some cars fuel system.

If carb the air fuel mixture ratio has to be correct
With injectors these can easily become blocked and may require a trip to the garage

The most basic thing you could check is your air filter when did you last change it. Always start off with the simple and cheapest things before spending cash

Hello there

Yet another 330i that just die's for no reason. It's a very common problem with MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. The next time it dies just unhook the MAF sensor which sits on the large black pipe that goes from you air filter to the engine, black square thing. The engine should start and drive fine but you should change the MAF when possible.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

Battery keeps dying after sitting as short as one day

Do a voltage draw test with a DVOM to determine if anything is staying on, also charge the battery and have a free test run at Kragen or other chain parts store. Common sources of voltage draw issues running down battery are glove box lights, truck lights to name a few.
