2006 xc90 4.4lv8 left lights on battery died. Now car drains immediately after jumping. Replaced battery and drove for 45min and urget service power system light goes off and car dies?

You have a bad alternator. When you jump the vehicle, it will run for a while on the battery power, but then die. Replace the alternator, and all will be well.

IT costs nothing to have a load test done on the battery to check for a dead cell which your problems point to. While the engine is running the alternator will be handling the power requirement but the battery will not supply the power required to start.

You need to enter a security code found in your owners manual, sometimes when the battery is dead for a certain time or replaced, it goes into security mode.

the alternator failed this is usually a chrylser and jeep dodge isue the bearing fails and the alternator quits charging the if the light comes on its usually alternator but on some jeeps the light dosent come on because it reads that it is charging

the other thing that it could be is the battery shot on ya the only thing you can do to see if its a good battery do a battery acid test

Sounds to me like you have a weak batt. also if you rear lights are sticking on some times that could drain it
