If it didn't do it before, then yes. Strip the steering wheel down. Come loose, if normal horn use doesn't work or a chaffed wire.

It could be anything, but you have to start somewhere :>) It does sound though like you may need the services of a good auto-electrician.

When the weather starts cooling down, horn will start blowing on its own. it has been doing this for a year.

this is a problem gm has had on alot of different cars over the usually turns out to be either the horn pad contacts or the horn relay.

2006 Subaru Outback horn will not blow in center position but will blow if wheel is rotated to either side approx. 45 degrees. Horn will blow if rotated 360 degrees from centered position

There is a "clock spring" that allows current to get from your horn button, through the steering wheel. Due to the spinning of the steerring wheel. This is a wound up flex circuit, and they can break. Sounds like yours has an issue. It's located behind the steering wheel and air bag.

Horn blows constantly, doesn,t blow the fuse or anything else. can this problem be outside of the horn blowing assy. on the steering wheel? it,s a 2000 galant. problem occurs all the time if the switch is...

  • The horn relay might have welded contacts (stuck in the on position). Pulling the relay should stop the horn.
  • The wiring harness on the steering column might have a broken wire to the horn relay shorting to someplace that applies power to the relay. In this case, turning the steering wheel all the way to one side or the other may stop the horn, and it won't sound when you press the horn button.
  • The horn button in the steering wheel is stuck on or shorted.

Horn want blow

try yelling out the window!
Or check the fuse, if it's good try hot wireing the horn by running a hot lead from the battery to the positive terminal of the horn. If that doesnt work its in the steering wheel.

The horn blows every time I turn the wheel. I hae to hold the horn pad on the steering wheel to keep it from honkning

If you can take the pad off the steering wheel there should be 2 wires that operate the horn. One is positive and one is negative. When the 2 are touched together the horn will sound. You may have a bad wire or the rubber coating is coming off the positive wire, causing it to honk when touched to a ground ( like your steering wheel)

1998 S10 Chevy Horn not working

You most likely need a new clock spring rotating contact under the steering wheel, it is a plastic ribbon with wire in it to connect the horn button and other accessories to the steering wheel while allowing the wheel to turn.
