Car will not start, security light flashing....

This is a common problem on GM vehicles since the mid 80's. The problem occurs when the key, ignition, and TDM computer are not communicating well together. Not only does the ignition need the key to turn, but also has to read that chip in your key to turn the starter on.The problem can be a bad key, or a worn out ignition, And in the worst case, the TDM. Common practice these days is to just bypass these systems. Ive found a site that explains it perfectly and gives 2 options to bypass. Id suggest bypassing due to the abundance of failures on these systems. I wouldnt spend 350-1000 dollars at a dealer just to have it break down again. The average life on these systems is 6-10 years... http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Whats the average age of a starter in a 2008 honda odyssey?

The average age of a three year old starter would be, well, three years old.
But, if you're actually asking how long it should last, probably at least 10 years, with no unusual abuse and average mileage driven. There are lots of factors that can shorten the life span of any electrical component, with water being the main culprit.

Is there a way to add transmission fluid to a 99 Super Beetle sealed transmission. I have a delay when starting out and really need to hit the gas. I was told the synthetic fluid is sealed in the...

You most likely have the 01M 4-speed. There is no way for us common folk to check or change the fluid on this trans. You can't find the fluid in any parts store. The dealer needs to have the car connected to a VAG computer to check the trans. If it don't leak, if it has never even shown signs of seeping then its probably not low. The average life is somewhere around 160,000 but results may vary.

My 95 vw cabrio shuts down both at 65 mph or just sitting in park

To keep it simple first, try replacing the fuel filter. They have a average life of around 30,000 to 40,000 miles or one year. you can pick one up at Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to get the job done with common tools and you can also have the car scanned there for any DTC codes and it's free of charge. Keep me posted, be glad to help you getting your car running 100% again.

Suspension is really loose, ride is sloppy like it bounces up an down when going over bumps in the road. Is this the shocks? It is a 1998 olds brvada.

Yes it's the shocks. They have an average life of 80,000 miles so replace them with life time replacement at Parts Source and don't buy the cheap ones, they don't work well and since there life time replacement parts. Spend a little more for the good ones, just keep the receipt in the glove box in your manuel. Good luck and hope this helps. you can change the shocks your self with common tolls.

When backing up and sometimes turning right my brakes(?) make a squealing sound. Almost as though a pebble is caught and grinding on something. Honda 2004 accord-50.000miles. I was told I needed new brakes...

Your rear brake pads are most likely worn to the wear indicator which can make a high pitch squealing noise. It is very common that it will squeal when backing up, but not when applying the brakes. 50,000 miles is about the average life for rear brake pads on your car.
