Question about Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

Hi I'm having trouble with my galaxy 2000rs plus remote starter on my toyota sienna.

It's about 8 years old. last winter...it would only start if an extra key was left in the ignition. This year... it will turn over for 5 seconds and then shut off. ( with key in or out of the ignition) I checked both fuses and they are fine. any suggestions?

Re Toyota 8 year/80,000 warranty about Toyota Sienna broken weld, is there a letter for this warranty?

Contact the dealer that I used. They were helpful. The dealer is in San Rafael, CA 94901
If they say they can fix it under warranty, you may want to drive there or call other dealers in the area.

I am sorry but we can be of no help here. This is a problem between you and the dealer.

2005 toyota sienna - cranks slowly but does start. What could be the cause?

Old battery, (have it checked at local auto parts, the cold cranking amps will be low) or a bad starter, ( this can also be checked, but you will have to remove it)

Toyota 2000 Sienna LE. Problem - Engine won't stop even turned the key off and pulled it out. A high frequency noise under hood and last about 20 seconds and the engine turn it self off. Only happened...

I had a similar problem with a Previa. It occurred when starting the engine. Turns out the starter would not disengage from the fly wheel. I believe that the starter was the source of the high frequency noise. Had to disconnect the battery cable to stop the starter. Replaced the starter and everything was fine.
Good luck.

2002 toyota sienna change transmission fluid and

The drain plug is on the bottom of the transmission. Its torqued to 49 nM.
1. Remove tranny oil pan drain plug
2. Drain old fluid (roughly 2-4 quarts)
3. Reinstall drain plug.
4. Measure amount drained in a 99 cent orange juice pitcher from Walmart
5. Pour back the same amount drained using Toyota Type T-IV fluid (available in 1 quart bottles from a Toyota dealer.
6. Start engine and shift slowly through all the gears ending in Park.
7. Check fluid level on the dipstick. Add fluid, if necessary, to bring the level to a point inbetween the COLD and HOT marks on the dipstick.
8. Go for a 20 minute drive and recheck fluid level. Add fluid, if necessary, to bring the level up to,
but not beyond, the upper half of the HOT range on the dipstick.

As in 1973, NO FLUSHING is needed and NO FILTER REPLACEMENT is needed, NO PAN REMOVAL is needed. As, as in 1973 todays Toyotas have a metal mesh filter screen that doesn't ever get clogged except in rare cases of transmission operational abuse, including failure to ever change the fluid for 150,000 miles or more.

'99 Toyota Sienna won't start in -18F

Try giving this vehicle a boos, If that doesn't work it may be a bad starter, however if you are in sub-zero temperatures and there is not antifreeze in you vehicle if its water or water-down antifreeze the block might be frozen. If this is a fact then you have to wait for it to warm up, then get it started and immediately have your vehicle winterized. (use pure antifree) Good Luck
