My Arietta hood switch has a problem with turning off. I have to keep pressing the -button for so long before get it worked. How can I fix it? I don't know how to open it either? Thanks

Alarm keeps going, car locked or unlocked


Hopely this trick is useful.

1. Open the window.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Close the door. (Keep the window open)
4. Turn the ignition key on.
5. Find the hood sensor in engine bay area. (It looks like push button)
6. Press the hood sensor and reconnect the battery. (Keep pressing the sensor)
7. Ask someone to start the engine (Keep pressing the sensor)
8. After the engine start, you can release that sensor.
9. Now your alarm vehicle was deactivated.

This trick is effective for common mitsubishi car which not using immobilizer.

Wont start


The only reset switch is the a fuel pump cutoff (inertia) switch located in the trunk near the driver's side rear wheel well. You'll see it if you peel the carpet back a bit - it's the red button in the black housing. However, that won't keep it from cranking.

Do you have an aftermarket remote car starter or alarm system? If so, start looking at that first - you may have an immoblizer switch in the hood. It's designed to keep you from starting your car when the hood is up. If it fails, it could keep your car from cranking. You may also have a "hidden" immobilizer switch somewhere in your car, typically under the dash.

Check your fuses/relays, including the ones under the hood. Your owners manual will tell you which are which.

Turn signals work but they don't return, how do I fix?


there's a little plastic piece inside the turn switch called a cancelling cam that broke or quit working. The only fix to get switch to return is replacing the turn signal switch. I don't think you can buy the part separately.

I just changed the oil in my vue and don't know how to reset the change oil light


If you open the hood and pull the fuse panel cover. With the ignition switched on (key on, engine off), press the red button in the underhood fuse panel for at least 5 whole seconds. The may flash a few times but then go off. Now you're reset.

Some of those cars did not have that option on them. You must frist open the drivers door. then press the lock button on the main switch oin the door. Then close the door and slowly insert the key 6 times within 10 seconds but do not go to fast and when the flashers blink then turn the key to the ACC potion and press one of the buttons on the remote.

Check under the hood. Often, there is a small switch that needs to be closed when the hood is shut. This switch sometimes comes loose and when the hood is closed the button is never pushed. Find the magic button and reattach it to it's mount so that the hood will press it when the hood is closed and that should solve the problem. This button works with the alarm system.

2007 Saturn Aura; when trying remote start horn beeps three times but doesn't start. I've replaced battery. Other functions work fine - door locks, trunk opens, alarm arms. Other key fob works fine.


press the lock button on the remote then press the remote start button. if this does not work check remote start status using steering wheel buttons

before going any further check the fuse. if the fuse is ok it may be the switch itself. There is a relay in the relay box under the hood. you can check the switch with a basic one wire test light. this will allow you to make sure there is continuity between fuse, relay, switch has current going in and out.

My alarm on my 2002 Hyundai Sonata keeps going off


Experience with this problem points to several possible causes. First, hood switch is improperly adjusted or rubber button on the underside of the hood which strikes this switch is missing or worn out (does the 'answer back' feature (horn toot) occur when you press the "lock" button on the keyless remote twice?). If it doesn't, this is the first place to look -- is the hood bent out of shape? Often I have found the hood adjustment is SO CLOSE to the hood switch being 'CLOSED', that a simple gust of WIND can set off the alarm.
Next, each door and the trunk have switches which must be in their proper positions (closed -- Open Circuit communication with the ETACS module) for the burglar alarm to SET Active/ON. The problem could be at any one of these switches, not to mention the ETACS module itself. Best solution:Take/tow the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.).
