In the engine wiring harness junction block, check the 15A F/PMP RLY FUSE. If it is OK, the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump/level sensor could be defective.

you should have volts with key on at the pump but it only will show 12 volts for a few seconds as the relay will only stay energized when cranking so if you have 12 volts and fuel pump still does not run check the ground if the pump is good and you have a ground and you have 12 volts pump should work make sure the connector on the sending unit is not corroded or burnt

2003 Chevy Impala wont start

does the engine crank. if the engine cranks ,then it is not the start.there is 3 things to start a car fuel.spark and air. is there a buzzing noise in the gas tank when you turn the key that would be the fuel pump working. now we need to know if you have spark to the ignition coils .this is my link to my garagehttps://www.facebook.com/TedsRepairs

I have a 2000 Chevy Impala and my car only stay crank if my foot is on the gas, when I release , it shuts off. It's not the mass air flow sensor or fuel pump what can it be??

Inspect, clean or replace the Idle Air control valve...about $35 for the part...also how is the air filter? A clogged catalytic converter can cause this too? ( A free check at quality muffler shops. Hope this helps.

I ran out of gas in my 2000 alero. I put 3 gallons of gas in it and it still wont start

More than likely a failed fuel pump.. they really don't like to be low on fuel as that is what keeps them cool. Have someone crank the car while you slap the fuel tank and listen for the buzz of the pump.

check fuse first in fuse box if not that then you will probably have to drop the fuel tank and change the fuel sending unit: Note check it first before installing new one because if for some reason thats not it you can just take it back without to much extra effort of having to drop tank again also check the old one by simple hot wiring it.

Test for fuel cut off relay

Sam so right now you have crank no start,or no crank , no start. Not clear.
If its no crank no start.Your looking at battery, cables, ignition switch , starter relay.
If its crank no start, you know that B+ is making it to starter. Ok now listen for fuel pump to buzz or hum when you put key in ignition and turn to on position. No buzzing or humming fuel pump or relay.
make a set of jumper cables run them from battery to fuel pump, Does the pump run? If yes. The pump is good relay is not. If pump doesn't run then its the pump. Remember when you do this test you don't need the key in ignition Battery doesn't have to be connected, because your bypassing the control circuit.
