Hi, I have a 1998 Ford Escort SE with 2.0

The large end should fit the rubber grommet, so it goes down. The small diameter end should connect to the vacuum line.

Where is the pcv valve located in a 1998 ford taurus

The PCV valve is located on top of the valve cover, on the front of the engine. There will be a rubber hose connected to it about as big around as your thumb. It is really easy to change, just pull the old one straight up and it will come out. Just remove the rubber hose, attach the hose to your new PCV valve, and push it back into the hole. Hope this helps!

Where is pcv valve 1998 buick lesabre

Remove the sight shield from the fuel rail. (it's the large plastic shield that dresses up the engine) As you stand in front of the car the alternator is located on rear left side. In front of it is an electrical connector to the MAP sensor. Remove it. Press the PCV valve cover down and rotate it 1/4 turn counterclockwise. It is actully on the intake manifold. Lift the cover, the upper O-ring and the spring from the housing. Remove the pcv valve and the lower O-ring from the intake manifold.

Where do I find the pcv valve and can I change it myself? If this is clogged or stuck does it cause oil to be all over under the hood and does it make the car use more oil?

Below is a diagram of your PCV valve. It's not a difficult repair to perform yourself as it's easily accessible. A clogged PCV wouldn't normally send oil throughout the hood. This is more likely a valve cover gasket. Look for pools of oil surrounding the valve cover. If you find seepage there, you've located the source of your oil consumption.

1998 Ford Explorer sport 4.0L 4x2 PCV Valve Location

the pcv is located on the rear(firewall) of the drivers side valve cover.turn counterclockwise and pull to remove be careful there are 2 small tabs inside the pcv hole in the valve cover(can feel with small finger) this is to hold valve in place so it wont leak.if you have a oil leak at the pcv a quick fix is to put a small amount of silicone around the pcv o-ring and install.wait hours for silicone to set up.
