Need Help VolksWagon 2000 Jetta 2.0 DTC codes PO-300 PO-302 PO-30

recall for windows is for the "clips"that attach the window to regulator ...run it buy your local dealership they will rebuild both doors for free if they haven't been done yet. as for the missfire codes, if you have a miss clear the codes , run the motor a couple key cycles till mil light returns and then reread codes.if only one cylinder sets code try swapping just the plug with another cyl;s plug , clear codes, rerun till light returns, read codes again if on same cyl it's the coil for that cyl if it moves to the cyl original plug was put into replace plug.....however 90% of the time when you get P0300 and more than one of the other 4 missfire codes it is from a vaccume leak. not all leaks will show with the old fashion gumout test.

My break lights in my 01 vw jetta only work once in a while

the swich is located just above and in front of the pedal its self. volkswagon has a recall out for a lot of those brake light switches. The first thing I would do is call the dealer an see if your is onr that has been recalled. they will replace it for free if so.

The coolant is leakin out around the crank and water pump housin

it could just be the water pump is finished, or not tightly against the engine (there is an o ring between it and the engine).

Cant find the thermostat on a 1998 jetta

The thermostat is located on the bottom of the water pump on the front of the engine. The lower radiator hose connects to it. You must remove the lower radiator hose. Then remove the slide clip from the plastic tube on the thermostat housing. Remove that plastic tube. Now remove the side cover in the passenger side wheel well. Then remove the 5 bolts holding the power steering pump on and then remove the power steering belt. Now swing the power steering pump to the side. you will now be able to access the two 8mm bolts holding the thermostat in place. And there ya go. Be careful if you snap those 8mm bolts on the thermostat you are gonna have to replace the housing. And you don't want to remove the water pump to do that. Trust me. ; )
