Have you tried tapping on the starter then trying to start the vehicle may be a bad spot in starter usually if no sound when trying to start and new battery will mean the starter is no good . Starter can be found by following the positive cable off the battery.

Connect a volt meter to battery cable at starter motor and earth must be battery voltage if not fault at cable or battery, if ok connect meter to small terminal on starter, must be battery voltage when key on start position , if ok starter fault, if no voltage fault at starter switch.

Tacoma won't start, or shift out of park.

Try putting foot on brake, or is key in ignition, also over-ride button by shifter. Auto's have safety micro switches in these places so not to have car in drive and start, "extremely dangerous" Try this first easily missed. lol
