You really need to buy a manual. There are a lot nuts, bolts, and screws to remove, plus the electrical plugs to disconnect. You have to remove the entire dash to get it out.

SOURCE: How do you access the spark plugs 2002 mercury mountaineer

IIRC these are a coil over design. meaning the coil is over the plug. the coil should have one 8mm bolt holding it on the lower intake manifold. remove the coild to get to the spark plugs. look by the fuel injectors, coil should be just next to it or very close. coil usually says motorcraft on it and circle in design.

good luck

THe actuator is usually in the vent housing behind the control panel. You can follow the vacuum lines from the a/c-heater control to the actuator.

Air blend actuator 2000 ford explorer is not working?

First, insure you do not have a vacuum leak or bad vacuum check valve. If this is all good, you may have to change actuator and every model has a different way to access this--some require dash removal. If you must do this, get a shop manual as the air bags CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!

How do I change the blend door actuator on 2005 mountaineer

Get under the dash & remove the 3 screws
holding the Vent Blend Door Motors on

Have about 5 of them

They are on the Motorcraft Web Site, with a diagram &
part numbers

You buy them from Amazon (Motorcraft OE Part)

If you use a scan tool in enhanced mode & look at the
HVAC Module, you will see the code & know which one
has failed

Need to try every manual setting & use your diagram,
to also see which location doesn't switch air flow

No heat

This problem, is caused by a defective air temperature control blend door actuator motor drive. To repair this yourself watch the YouTube video of the job on an 04 Explorer, your Mountaineer is the same truck with Mercury badges.

Not having any heat there is aclicking sound when i turn controls to heat

you have a A/C-Heat blend door actuator malfunction. This door switches from A/C vent to heater core vents via an actuator motor.Very Typical problem on Ford/Mercury/Lincolns vehicles. There are multiple actuators in this vehicle, some in the dash and some in the rear (only if equipped w/rear A/C-Heater. This will require pin pointing the exact fault, and may require lower dashboard or rear quarter panel interior trim (if rear A/C-Heater equipped) removal

I hear clicking when i turn on my heat. 2002 Mercury Mountaineer

This should be a faulty blend door actuator inside the dash. Depending on if its the left or right actuator you may have to remove the dash to gain access.

2003 mercury grand marquis LS heater does notr blow hot air, blower blows but cold air comes what is the problem

The blend door is stuck in cold position. That usually happens because the blend door actuator has failed.

You will need to test and replace the blend door actuator.

To replace the actuator you will need to take apart the dash and remove completely the instrument panel,d isconnect the connector, remove the four screws, remove the temperature blend door actuator and replace it.

The replacement is not a job for beginners, since you have to take apart the dash to access the actuator.

Regards.
