Which engine?
ok ill guess, v6. 3.2 or 3.5

paste.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen the drain plug (2) to drain the engine coolant into a suitable container.
  3. Disconnect oil cooler hose (1) on automatic transmission (A/T).
  4. Disconnect radiator inlet hose and outlet hose from the engine.
  5. Exploded view of the auto trans oil cooler hose (1), radiator hose (2), lower fan guide (3), reserve tank hose (4), radiator (5) and reserve tank (6)-3.2L and 3.5L engines
  6. il cooler hose (1) and radiator drain plug (2) -3.2L and 3.5L engines Remove fan guide (1), clips (3) on both sides and the bottom lock, then remove fan guide lower (3) with fan shroud (4).
  7. Disconnect the reserve tank hose (4) from radiator-3.2L and 3.5L engines
    Remove fan guide (1), clips (3) on both sides and the bottom lock, then remove fan guide lower (3) with fan shroud (4).
  8. Lift up and remove the radiator assembly with hose, taking care not to damage the radiator core with a fan blade.
  9. Remove rubber cushions on both sides at the bottom.

Remove items in this order and fit in reverse
1st-grill to help with access
2nd-cooling fan
3rd-fan shroud
4th-radiator hoses x3
5th-radiator
remember to remove the rubbers at the bottom of the old radiator to use on the new radiator

Thermostat

Removal & Installation
2.2L Engine
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain engine coolant from the radiator and engine.
Disconnect radiator hose from the inlet pipe.
Remove retainers and the thermostat housing.

To install:
Before installing thermostat, coat sealing surface with silicone grease.
Install a new gasket.
Install thermostat housing and tighten the bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
Attach the radiator hose to the inlet pipe.
Replenish the engine coolant.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Start engine and check for engine coolant leaks.

3.2L & 3.5L Engines
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain engine coolant from the radiator and engine.
Disconnect radiator hose from the inlet pipe.
Remove the thermostat housing, then remove the thermostat (2).

To install:

Install the thermostat into the outlet pipe (4) making sure that the air hole is in the up position.

Install thermostat housing and tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
Attach the radiator hose to the inlet pipe.
Refill the engine with the proper type and amount of coolant.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Start engine and check for coolant leakage.

Have a 1999 rodeo. with a new thermostat and radiator. I drive a mile,but it runs hot, but radiator still cold and full up.


the dash gauge or its sender is bad.
use and IR gun for $15 and see that the coolant is
at 180F and the old crapppy gages is fibbing,
common this.
above poster forgets to read the COLD word.
and fails you big time.

I will now read the book for you.
the SM, service manual to see how yours works
most cars changed radically from 1996 to 2000
2.2L
3.2L engine? oops both are same, had to look both.
the sensor has one wire
and is not the ECT sender with 2 wires.

screw drivers and wrench, same as all cars.
and pliers
normal shop tools.
first off you never said , your shop is with no tools
and kind matters, no?
which engine, ? of the 3 opted day 1.
drain system.
remove hoses
remove all bolts and clamps
unbolt the shroud.
some require fan removal , be that electric or not;
lift out Radiator.

Drain transmission fluid. Remove transmission oil pan. Remove and replace transmission filter. re-install oil pan with new gasket and refill with new transmission fluid.

The repair manual book says first disconnect the battery , then lift the car to have more space to work on it make sure that is secure if you liftit ,remove the nut to Starter ,also nut to solenoid cable ,or if you think it is easier take off starter first and then after remove nuts to starter and solenoid ,then you ready to install you new or rebuilt starter ,,good luck

Need a diagram on how to in stall a serpentine belt on a 99 isuzu rodeo v6 with air conditioning


Remove the upper radiator shroud. Remove the fan by undoing the 4 bolts that hold it to the water pump. Using a wrench turn the tensioner pulley hex nut to release tension on the belt. 99 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L 2wd Catalytic Converter instructions


you're having the same problem i had with my 99 isuzu rodeo 2 wd 3.2 i paid a muffler guy over $600 to replace those catalytic converters, if you're good at welding you could do the welding yourself after buying the catalytics, basiclly i seen them just cut them off and welded them back on
