After goings over a bump, why did headlights, tail lights and some dash lights go off and alternator light came on?

You must have a very loose electrical connection somewhere which is breaking contact every time you hit a decent bump. Have the main electrical cables to the battery checked carefully for condition, make sure the cable connections to the battery terminals are very clean and tight and check all power connections and wiring at the alternator. Then recheck if you are still getting an electrical power loss when you hit a bump.

If you are losing headlights and tail lights etc and getting the alternator warning you should be experiencing a loss of electrical power to the engine(coils, spark plugs and fuel injectors) and engine computer also.

Would a faulty neutral safety switch cause complete power loss

NO.. complete power loss would be caused by a bad battery, a bad connection of the battery cables either at the battery or at the starter or at the ground for the neg. cable., (probably the cause). More info please.. how did this happen? was it while you were driving ? Post a comment here and give us more info.

I hive a 1990 1500 Silverado z71 off road ran good for about 3 minuets then would start to die out then die after cooled off would do same thing so I changed full pump and filter then realized there was no...

Cannot determine from the description of the problem if rewiring power to pump resolved the loss of the electrical power or not. Now when it dies, is there still a loss of electrical power? If there is still a loss of electrical power, ensure that the new wiring is connected to the 'Engine Switched' side of the power system. In other words, only when the engine is turned on, power is applied to the fuel pump. If power is good, mostly likely there is a clog in the fuel system (lines) between the pump and the fuel injectors. It doesn't necessarily mean trash was sucked out of tank, today's ethanol gas can trash a fuel system from the inside out. Being a 1990...vehicles back then were less compatible with ethanol. If pump has power and running, fuel lines may need a good flush (multiple flushes maybe to get it all). When it quits, a simple pressure test at the injectors may help determine if fuel is getting to engine. Keep it simple...walk the dog. Make sure you've got good pressure at pump, follow fuel line hand over hand to the next connection, test pressure again, keep going until you find loss of pressure. Good luck...these type of problems are not fun to troubleshoot, not difficult either, just time consuming.
