Hi, I have a Renault megane 2 1.6 petrol auto, when I come to a stop the car it goes into limp mode, switch of & restart it runs fine, but sometimes it runs ok, please help getting frustrated

The most common problems with renault engine running probs is caused by the crankshaft/flywheel sensor it s located on top of the flywheel housing 1 connector and 2 bolts only cheap/easy to change and worth to replace first

it could be engine or transmission

Check the EGR valve and pipes. Ensure that its very clean internally and the the ports are clear of carbon crude. You can use carb choke spray cleaner, cloth, old toothbrush and screw driver to get this device clean

Engine revving


try cleaning the petrol cap. it breaths round the key hole. i boiled mine. sometimes if there is not enough air in the tank. pure fule goes into the carb. and makes the car race. take fule cap and boil it in water. you can use steradent in cold water if you prefer. muck gets stuck in them.
