Check the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve for being stuck open. Try to blow through it by mouth. It should be closed and should not be able to blow through it by mouth with it de-energized. Can test it per TSB # 01-025/05. Potential Causes: EVAP Canister Purge Control Solenoid Valve

There is a TSB for these and other possible trouble codes to be set due to a stuck open EVAP canister purge solenoid valve - TSB # 01-025/05. A stuck open EVAP canister purge solenoid valve will also allow fuel vapors from the fuel tank to enter the engine when the fuel tank is being filled - resulting in a hard start condition. The EVAP canister purge solenoid valve is under the hood on the drivers rear of the intake manifold area

2012 mazda 5 p0442 code gas cap replaced check engine light stays on

the OBD2 code P0442 means that on your system you have a small air/vacuum leak. I would take this to a mazda dealer to find the leak.It could be anywhere in the evap, system. They have scanners to tell where it is. God-Bless!

Location for 2006 buick rainier EVAP purge solenoid

You should have an EVAP leak test done . It could be a leaking purge valve , you could need a new gas cap as well or it could be the fuel filler neck . or assorted hoses or the fuel tank pressure sensor . If the check engine light is lit there will be a code .
DTC P0442: Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected or
DTC P0455: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak
DTC P0446: Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Vent System Performance
You have to jack up the vehicle , the purge valve is attached to the engine behind the A/C compressor .

I have a 2006 mazda 6 and engine light came on, got checked and came back with code p0455 evap leak and lean mixture bank 2. Replaced gas cap, no difference, got smoke test, no leaks. Mechanic says replace...

I wouldn't replace the plugs, just yet. This sounds like the vent solenoid. They are usually around the fuel tank and sometimes located on the charcoal canister, Which I believe is where yours is. Test it with 12 volts it should click. if it doesn't then replace this. On newer cars like yours, when the vent or purge solenoids malfunction, they will pop an 02 code. If the solenoid clicks then check the wires right at the plug . they tend to break there. And the gasket your looking for is the intake manifold gasket. And looking for the solenoid, look under the emissions and EVAP systems.
