Is it an easy job to change the thermostat on a Mitsubishi Express Van 2004. I was told it was at the end of the top radiator hose. My sons car has broken down are there any tricks I should know.

Loosen the upper radiator hose. This is the hose that connects to top of the radiator to the engine. Loosen the hose on the end that connects to the engine by using a flat-tip screwdriver to loosen the circular clamp.

  • Remove the hose. Pull the upper radiator hose off the end that connects to the engine. Have a drain pan underneath the hose to catch any coolant that remains in the hose.

  • Loosen the thermostat housing. Use your ratchet and socket set to loosen the bolts that hold your Mitsubishi's thermostat housing in place. The number of bolts and their locations vary based on your Mitsubishi model

Where is the thermostat on a 2004 Mitsubishi montero limited

Right under the hose connection coming from the radiator to the engine, at the engine side. That upper radiator hose connects to the engine thru the thermostat housing. Usually 2 bolts hold it onto engine and the hose connects to it.

2004 Chevy express van 5.3 1500 AWD new water pump and thermostat but thermostat doesnt appear to be opening lower radiator hose is cold heater blowing cold air, could it bethe coolant temp sensor ?

could it be that you didnt bleed the system correctly... some new vehicles the radiator cap is lower than the thermostat causing an air pocket... you have to bleed this out... if there is a sending unit next to the thermostat housing pull it and see in antifreeze comes out.
also did yo put the thermostat in correctly ?
did you add almost 3 gallons of coolant and water ?

My vehicle is simulating overheating. A check engine analysis reveals that it is a ECT sensor problem. Is this hard to change on a 2004 Chevy Express Van?

What is Simulating Overheating? it either is overheating, or its not. What engine do you have? What is the trouble code? DO NOT take the word of a parts store free code scan . The ECT is near the thermostat housing.
