Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Recently a reminder that a 150,000 klm service is due keeps showing up on my dash. I know it has something to do with the trip computer, but I can't find a way to get in to eliminate the message.

The vehicle is a 2007 VZ Commodore which I service and maintain myself. The handbook is no help either. I've been thru the mode & settings menu several times. Can anyone give me some advice please?

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to reset service reminder alarm on Toyota aurion 2008?

I am not familiar with that model but most Toyotas reset like this. Tune the key off. Pess and hold the odo/trip reset button while you turn the key to the run position (do not start the engine). The odometer should change to all dashes which will disappear one at a time then change to all zeros and then back to the mileage. Release the button as soon as the mileage is displayed. Sometimes the trip A needs to be displayed before you turn off the key to start. Your owners manual should have this info as well.

How do you turn off the "Car needs Oil Change"

1. Make sure the trip odometer is NOT on 'Trip A' or 'Trip B' (ie: just the normal ODO). With the ignition off, press and hold the reset button. Press the 'Start' button twice without pressing the brake, but while holding the reset button. The dash will let you know its resetting, just keep holding the button until it is done.

2. Make sure the Trip/Odometer is set to "trip A". With ignition off press and hold the reset button. While pressing the reset button, press the start/ignition button twice to turn ignition on. Keep watching the trip/odometer display to flash the lines (-----) until you see it flash the zeros (00000) then it

Service engine soon light just came on my 2001 F-150 came on All the gauges are reading correctly. All fluids are topped, what could be the problem?

it is just a reminder, the car has a preset service reminder for the drivers convenience. your service schedules probably wont match up with their schedules. its not a concern you can have it removed, consult your owners manual and it will tell you how to remove the light. it will diasable it until the computers next preset service date/klm.

My 2004 Rx330 is showing maintenance required at 65,500 miles. I purchased the car used at 39,000 miles all I have done is changed the oil every 5,000 miles. What do you think the maintenance requirement...

a major service is due at 60000 miles. the light is just a reminder that maintenance is due. is it the message on the nav screen or the one on the dash cluster? if you want to turn it of, hold the trip/od button in while turning the ignition on, keep your foot off the brake, dont start the car. you will see dashes flashing where the od shows miles, hold until its done flashing. and the lite on the dash cluster will go out. it will come back on after 5000 miles. you can go online to lexus.com to review what the services are and what they involve.

I have a 2008 corolla. It has an auto light when the car needs an oil change. I need to know how to reset it.

Look in your owners manual and go to the part that explains the different symbols on your dash. Look for that service reminder and it should tell you what page to go to to learn more about that. Somewhere there should be some wording to the effect that "When you have your car serviced by a certified Toyota dealer they will reset it for you. In the event that someone other does your maintenance then this is the procedure to reset......."

Service reminder

You can reset it manually. Make sure the car is off, then click the ignition over to ON (do not turn over the engine). Press the INFO button until you see the service reminder (should be a wrench with 3 dashes by it). Once you see this, press and HOLD the INFO button for 3-5 seconds. The reminder should add 6 months and 5000 miles.
