2004 Trailblazer lower taillights not working upper work fine.

I have a 2004 Trailblazer. the rear Brake taillight needed a bulb replace in upper light so the screws were rusted and had to replace. I got them open and the lower bulb ok both right and left. I bought new taillights and replaced both right and left side. the upper brake and taillights work the lower brake and running lights don't work. Just the upper. All bulbs good and new lights. Any Idea?

Tony, our TB's only have 3 bulbs, 1 brake, 1 running, 1 backup.
If you happened to be playing with NEW LED bulbs (from local retail location) for the brakes, guaranteed you blew the fuse under the rear seat. It takes a special CK socket for the brakes that no one carry's. If you're only dealing with normal incondecent bulbs, I'd still check the fuse under the rear passenger seat.

With the condition of the screws you should check to make sure there is a good connection to the lower bulbs for both power and ground.

Testimonial: "Thanks, I already purchased and replaced both tail lights with new. I did figure out the lower are turn and flasher lights however the lower running lights still do not work."

That still sounds like an electrical connection issue. Use a voltage tester to verify you have power when the vehicle is running. If there is power, then it is probably a poor ground connection or broken wire.

Why taillights do not come on, but the brakelights and signal lights work

check the fuses for a burnt fuse. the taillight circuit has its own fuse and wiring. its possible the headlight switch is bad but this doesn`t happen very often.

03 Chevy Trailblazer left rear taillight will not work. Brake light, back up light & turn signal all work. Right rear all work. Replaced bulbs, switched sides, still nothing.

There was a recall on this, see your local Chevrolet dealer.... Recall Date: NOV 01, 2004 Model Affected: 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer Summary: ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, VIBRATION AND HEAT MAY CAUSE THE TAIL LAMP/STOP LAMP BULB TO LOOSEN IN ITS SOCKET. I need the proper fuse letter/code for right rear light...2004 jeep cherokee

what type of light? turn signal, taillight,or brake light. if the right rear isn't working but the left rear is on the the brake light or the taillight then the problem isn't the fuse(the share the same fuse). may want to check the bulb socket on the right rear. the contacts get hot and melt the socket and the housing.

Brake light bulb replacement.

Remove panel in trunk (round one on each side) reach inside unscrew toggle bolt then remove the entire taillight assembly, may have to push from inside. When you have the taillight assembly out you will see where the bulb is on the back of the assembly, remove and replace with new bulb. Put taillight assembly back in, replace toggle bolt make sure it is tight and replace panel. It is a pain the first time but I have done this 3 or 4 times it gets easier.
