2006 HHR, 2.4 engine, 23,000 miles on it. Temperature gauge and A/C stops working at the same time, never over-heating. Main fuse removal with ignition on resets whatever causes this temporarily.

I have the same problem. Does this occur only on HOT days? It seems that once the outdoor temperature goes over 90 degrees I get a major system malfunction.

This problem is almost certainly caused by a glich in the BCM (Body Control Module) u need to have the dealer run a TSB (techinical service bulletins) search and see if any known defect or repair procedure shows up, without the dealers special test equipment (the BCM can be scanned for faults) u have little chance of an effective repair, the key is having the problem occur while at the dealer, u could have a new BCM installled and hope that cures the issue but that is a rather expensive quess, in my data bases I show no other complaints about this issue, like I stated above the common component is the BCM for these malfunctions.

The first place to start would be with the new ignition switch. What you are saying sounds like a defective switch.

My 2006 chevy hhr is in between oil changes and two courts low and time to change oil again.

First thing, don't let the manufacture tell you that you can 5000 to 6000 mile without an oil change.Next thing they want you to use oil that is much too thin. They don't want the engine to last too long because they can't sell you a new car that often.City driving you need to change your oil at least every 3000 mile and highway every 4000 mile. The biggest problem is having you oil changed at a quick change that uses BULK oil.If they don't offer oil from a jug, next time bring you own oil if you have to.Use 10w30 in the winter months and 10w40 in the Summer. It don't hurt to put in a can of STP after each change.

The power and heat doesn't work on the driver seat in my 2006 chevy hhr

You may have a bad switch or some electrical problem with that.
Check to see if you have a separate fuse just for the driver seat on your fuse box by looking at the diagram on the fuse box cover.
I think it there is a fuse it would control both sides.
Take it in to an auto electric place, they would be able to solve your problem quickly.

My 2006 hhr temperature goes up too often.

There should be some relay controlling the electric radiator cooling fans. Usually 2 heat sensors are on the motor, 1 for the dash gauge and the other for the fans.

You are trying to cool the transmission when the truck is in gear. When you go to Park or Neutral, the trans is freewheeling and the engine can also rev up slightly. Both of these actions will help bring down the temperature.

You need to have the electric radiator cooling fans checked. Sometimes they are built with 2 speeds and the high speed may not be switching on.

Also, some engines have a cooling fan clutch which is suppose to grip better when the engine heats up. This function can be checked with a timig light. If the clutch on and the fan clutch slips too much, it will overheat.

2006 Chevrolet HHR LT Problem

After searching around, I found several posts that suggested reseating all the relays and fuses under the hood. After checking, I noticed nearly all of them were not seated well. I pushed them all down and I haven't had the problem since.
