Question about 1994 Isuzu Trooper

1994 Isuzu Trooper o2 sensor, and other misc. problems.

Ok I am tring to get some help with this..... First I need to know where the o2 Sensor Indicator Light Cancel switch is located?? Second maybe someone can shed some light on this.. we replaced the o2 sensor, and the o2 light on dash is still on, we did everything we could to remove the code but no luck ( remove from neg battery for 30 sec, ect ). The trooper seems to be running very ruff and shimmy's. It almost seems like it is not getting enough fuel. When you put the gas peddel to the floor there is no power, it bogs down, then shimmy's, then shifts very hard. The stearing wheel shakes. Can someone please help me before I drive this thing off a cliff. Thanks so much in advance.

Well we are going to go get another o2 sensor sometime this week and see if maybe that was the problem. ( autozone told us o2 sensors do not go bad after 2+ mts ) Everyone is telling us to go get it checked at Autozone but they dont test for this year. I do not want to take it to a Isuzu dealer, they will bend me over. Thanks again

When you replace O2 the light will not go off you must follow these steps, At 90K intervals, the O2 Sensor light will illuminate. After replacing the sensor you must perform the following procedure to reset the light. 1. Remove the instrument cluster. 2. Remove the tape from the hole marked "B" on the back of the instrument cluster. 3.Find the hole marked "A" and remove the screw from that hole. 4. Install the screw in the hole marked "B". 5. Recover hole "B" with tape. 6. Reinstall instrument cover. Once you travel 90,000 more miles you get to reverse the procedure. I think they should test the water at the places those automotive engineers work at.

Get a different scan test done as it may have been faulty scanner itself [not unusual!]
if that gives the sme errors then reset it & test again
if that fails change the computor & test again!
good luck
Cheers Rob
PS: keep me posted on it please

What is O2 light censur on my 1992 Isuzu trooper

Hi there,

An O2 sensor (also known a HEGO or HO2s) is an electrical 'probe' which is screwed into your exhaust pipe/s (you will see an electrical wire connecting into your exhaust pipe).

Each exhaust pipe will have an O2 sensors (sometines 2 per side - one mounted in front of the catalytic converter and one after the converter).

An HO2 sensor is responsible for heating up the exhaust gas (when starting vehicle from cold) to aid the computer in delivering the correctly Fuel/Air mixture. Once the engine reaches normal operating temperature, the heater section on the O2 sensor then turns off, providing normal exhaust gas measurement for appropriate fuel/air mixture.

An HO2 sensor is critical in the efficient running of an engine.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

O2 light stays on

You're lucky you have an O2 sensor light, which most cars do not have.

I have a 1992 Izuzu Trooper...just hit the 180K mark on mileage...and the O2 light came on...what does that mean?

most likely that your O2 sensor has gone bad. this affects fuel mileage and power you need to hookup a scan tool and have it checked out.

Oxygen Sensor on '99 Isuzu Trooper

The O2 sensor is on the engine side (up stream) before the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe, it is barrel shaped about the size of a jumbo magic marker.
