Drove to the the store went into the store came back out got into the vehicle turn the key to cranking the engine would turn over but will not start i replace a new fuel pump and fuel filter and it still want start not getting any spark at the coil boot and spark plugs why no spark? 2004 GMC envoy slt 4.2L
Turn the key on. Look at the security light or DIC. If t he light stays on(after a couple seconds) or DIC displays security. The reset for it is.. Turn the key on for ten minutes, off for thirty seconds. Try to start. The relearn is three times this, try to start after the third time. Have a battery charger on it. Battery goes low or you accidentally hit the starter, you have to start all over. If the light goes off, it's not security. Have the codes read. If you want to throw more money at it. replace the crank sensor. This may be the reason for no spark.
