    What is an Instrument Cluster??

  • clive_birch Jul 22, 2009

meaning i have to change all of that?! seems a bit drastic? i mean, in the morning it works fine, i can read it clearly... what gear i'm in, weather temp. and the warning about my airbags / seatbelt as well. only problem is it fades out till the whole screen is just a red glow. starts at the top to the bottom till gone.

have i made sense in explaining?

  • clive_birch Jul 22, 2009

i was hoping you wouldn't say that... any chance you can advise me on Part Numbers?

I have a 2004 Elantra, the temp gauge goes up to 3/4 within 5 minutes of driving...and remains there...never overheats...just stays at that high hot temp ...there is enough coolant and the fans are...

The sensor for the gauge could be faulty.
The thermostat could also be faulty, there is a small window between the thermostat opening at 195 and the coolant boiling at 220.

If this was happening to me.... I'd goto an airconditioning re-gas centre and get them to check for gas leaks. In my old commodore the Evaporator Core was leaking and causing some of the issues you have mentioned.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you replace the ignition coil. If the ignition coil gets hot the car may stall or may not start right away till it cools down. The ignition coil is surely faulty and replacement is surely necessary.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Tick noise

if its a constintly ticking noise while driving sometimes it can go and fade away, this is due to your tappets or also lifters are worn out or not getting oil to them due to your oil pick up, and this will also give you the engine light and the engine light wil stay on all the time till the problem is fixed
